Official Princeton SCEA 2019 Deferred Students

Hey, folks. Hope all are faring well during this long, long wait.

Wow. I started a Columbia deferred students community and no one seems to care at all. But you guys have 8 pages! You guys must be really interested, as I still am at Columbia.

Yes, I second @ackack  Wishing everyone the best as we wrap up our senior year. So many of my friends were accepted to schools Early Decision; it’s rough not having any idea where I’ll be headed in the fall yet.

Is March 31 the date? Will they send us another email like they did for SCEA decisions?

I’m trying not to think about it too much, but it’s hard not to.

Hey guys, what do you think of deferral as being a good sign for your chances with other colleges? It’s just something I saw a poster note when posting about regular decisions in one of the previous years – students deferred at HYP tended to have good luck with other Ivies. Do you guys think this is true for Princeton, with its high deferral rate?

Just wanted to let you guys know that Princeton will release their decisions on March 27th now.

It’s back to the 31st now…

are all ivies the 31st? i read somehwere that Dartmouth is April 1st

The Ivies post decisions on the same day. Yale has already emailed its applicants that the date is March 31.

Only 11 more agonizingly long days

do you guys still have hope for Princeton? I’m opening my Princeton decision first on ivy day since I’m expecting a rejection…

@binatang My expectations are lower than Justin Bieber’s saggy pants, so no I don’t have hope for Princeton lol. I do like this weird defense mechanism I have right now though, ends up making you really happy when you receive an acceptance.

Oh, wait. I’m not a deferred student. Just a nosy RD applicant droppin a hello! Peaceee.

@binatang Negative expectations, lol. I’m going strictly alphabetically for my Ivy decisions, even though I have a negative chance at Harvard and zero chance at Princeton and Yale. (Thank you Cornell for coming through for me - I’ll start off on a good note)

Wow, it’s been a while since I poked around the Princeton board.

Eh my chances are low, but I’m at peace with it. I just want to know where I’ll end

@hopefulperson‌ you have to be more hopeful than that!

@BlueWizard97 LOL as much as I try to live up to my username, I don’t think any of HYP(S) will work out. Good luck to you!

@hopefulperson yeah ever since Dec 15 I haven’t been on Princeton’s boards at all but I’ve started to check it out again starting a few days ago … In my mind I’ve already been rejected from Princeton though

Both of my teacher recommendations are from Princeton alumni (a very lucky coincidence). How much (if at all) do you guys think this will help me in the admissions process? I was deferred early action but Princeton had no way of knowing that information until I sent them a letter in January.

Also got deferred EA hi guys :stuckouttonguewinkingeye:
@mmj133 Im not too sure if having your recommendations written by Princeton Alumni will help you too much. Your admissions are obviously going to be based more on what the letters say instead of who wrote them so…
