Official Princeton SCEA 2019 Deferred Students

does anyone know the acceptance rate for deferred students?

@ScienceDaddy‌ I remember you from the SCEA thread, I also got deferred. Best of luck, seems like you really want to go.

In other news, I’m like 5/9 or so with 2 more waitlists but don’t have any very compelling financial aid offers so we’ll see

@binatang‌ I vaguely recall a big discussion about this in the old thread, I believe that after much indecisiveness we pegged the rate at around 10%. I could be super wrong about that though…maybe I just dreamt it lol

@ScienceDaddy oh thanks! I gave up on princeton after being deferred but now I’m considering it again… But trying not to get my hopes up too high

9 acceptances (including an Ivy likely), 2 waitlists, and waiting on 3 decisions tomorrow!

After being deferred SCEA, my daughter was accepted today. She is quite excited. Best of luck to all.

Ended up getting rejected… Made peace with a rejection when I got deferred. Good luck everyone!

Oh my god, I was…ACCEPTED!!

OH MY FCKING GOD
ACCEPTED!!!
HOLYYYY

HEY GUYS!!! WOW askljdhf today was definitely a whirlwind. I was rejected from Princeton today, but I was surprisingly okay with it! I am SO SO SO blessed to have been accepted to Yale, Columbia, UPenn (University Scholars w/ Likely letter), and Stanford. I am not bitter about the rejection; but Princeton will always hold a special place in my heart. CONGRATS TO ALL THOSE ACCEPTED!!! SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!

Although I have not made my final decision yet, I am 90% sure that I will be a Bulldog this fall

Boola boola!

Boom rejected. Great ride tho. Congrats to everyone else

Accepted! This group has been so supportive and overall awesome.

Congrats to all who got in, and shoutout to everyone here for making Princeton SCEA and SCEA Deferred pretty much the nicest threads on CC. :ar!
I got rejected yesterday, but I’ve bid my farewell to Princeton and am super excited to be choosing between several amazing schools: Cornell, Amherst, UChicago, Columbia (likely letter, Rabi Scholar), and Yale. (Predictably, I’m leaning toward one of the latter two – maybe we’ll see each other at Columbia or Yale, @Ambitious19‌ !!!). Again, congrats to everyone and good luck with the rest of your senior years!

Late but denied…anyone here headed to UChicago?

Hey guys, I’m so happy that I got to virtually meet you all! Congrats to all of you as well!

hey guys i havent been much of a poster on these apps, but I have been following some of the posts. I wanted to say that I was rejected by HYPS (+ other ivies as well) and sometimes I still feel bitter about it. It was tough to see rejection letter after rejection letter from your top choices. However, the more bitter i feel, the more I realize that I should be grateful for all the opportunities I was provided and all of the great schools that I got into, because having read about all of your work and achievements, I am sure some excellent schools who may not have been Harvard or Princeton or Yale, have accepted you. I know that some of you may be inconsolable, as I was, because you think your hard work over the past four years has not paid out. To that, I say that the process itself is extremely rewarding. I think that we learn more from rejection than anything else. I think that being grateful for all that we have (and what most of the world doesnt) is a crucial realization. It may sting, but I know that all hard work eventually pays off, we may not see it, but I know in my heart that it will pay off.

The bottom line to my rather wordy post is that life is what you make of it. I know this is a cliché, but at least we tried. Didnt get in? doesnt matter. time to move on to wherever next our life takes because it is a marathon and we’ve only run 2 miles. I am humbled and I would like to thank everybody’s who’s supportive and helpful and I would like to congratulate everybody on their acceptances and on their achievements. Best of luck and maybe I’ll see you guys in fall!

Anyone else interested in premed at Princeton?

Hi guys!
Most of you must be enjoying your first years of college right now, but I’m a senior who got deferred EA for class of 2020 and I had a couple questions.
If you were accepted, did you send a letter of continued interest after deferral?
If you were rejected, did you send a letter of continued interest after your deferral?
Thanks in advance!
