I’m going to assume that Princeton can’t place that much value in SATs. I fell 200 dollars short of being able to take a Kaplan Course, despite working throughout the summer, and my test scores were ranging in the low 1900s. I applied anyway, even though I thought I had absolutely no chance of getting in with a 1900, and I was shocked to discover I had been accepted. I’d love to sit in on an admissions panel making their decisions, honestly. It’s truly a toss-up.

:) I enjoy your English lessons. I was using “lighthearted” in the sense of “flippant” or “facetious,” since the speculation that I am family to tokenadult has been made previously.

Understood. I would ask you to consider honoring the common meaning of words as a starting place, and evolve, or devolve, to secondary meanings only when you want to strike a small note of dissonance with your readers.

This is really off topic so I apologize. But I have noticed that most of you guys take APs instead of the IB diploma…by any chance do they like to see an applicant taking the IB diploma? And do the admission committee realize that overseas students may not have as many ECs as compared to a student from the US? Thanks.

Well, these waitlist acceptances are encouraging - statistically speaking. I seem to be in this range of people ^_^. It’s also a positive thing that they’re actually going to the waitlist. Think their yield dropped from around 60% to 59% or less? That would be fantastic!
