[/ul]General Comments:
I'm breathless right now.. kinda like I was went I first stepped foot onto the campus. I wish everyone the best of luck and am the firmest of believers in that little, and admittedly trite, cliche, "everything happens for a reason, and in the long run, the things you can't control will always work out on their own" (alright so I added that last bit on myself..)

It's a long process & big relief, she got into every college she applied

[] Essays: Not my absolute best, not my absolute worst. I had my common app study abroad essay, and then one where I mention bizarre tendencies of humans and our society, and then one about what I'll do with my life (or something?)
[] Teacher Recs: One from my Chinese teacher, notorious for being over-the-top complimentary..and one from my Chemistry teacher, who is ludicrously brilliant but I dunno what he said about me.
[] Counselor Rec: Oh that man hated me, he thought I'd be lucky to get into Tufts because I had no junior transcript. But it's his job to do me a service, so I assume it was decent, lol.
[] Hook (if any): I've played violin for 11 years, and I also went to Japan, with no prior lingual experience in Japanese, to study at a public high school there for a year (hence no junior transcript). My blessing and my curse.

**General Comments:
Congrats to all you guys who got in, I thought the ol' rogue intellect card would help me out (into philosophy and languages and theology and theoretical physics and stuff, not worrying about grades to go abroad for a year, etc.), but I guess I needed more concrete evidence that I wasn't just some crazy punk. Man, you kids have scholarly support I never knew EXISTED, there's so much cool stuff I could have done if I even knew it was there. I'm the king of waitlists, I also got one from Columbia and Cornell...haven't heard from Stanford but I can guess, if I'm any good at pattern-spotting :P

So who knows, I might go with the waitlist. I might just go to Tufts. Have fun, you guys who got in!

[] Essays: Decent, I thought. I wrote about competitive dance, and how it connected me with my grandmother who died of cancer, and for the two short Princeton essays, I wrote one about creative-writing in the middle of the night, and one about my dad as an inspiration. Supposedly decent essays.

[] Teacher Recs: Didn't see them.
[] Counselor Rec: He'd known me for a week or so...?
[] Hook (if any): Competitive ballroom dancer? I don't know.
[] Applied early? Nope. Applied late, in fact.
[/ul]Location/Person:[ul]
[] State or Country: UK/NJ - complicated.
[] School Type: Private
[] Ethnicity: White
[] Gender: Female
[/ul]Other Factors: I submitted a creative writing piece, and emailed them that I was teaching myself and being tutored in math so I could bring myself up despite focusing in the humanities for so long. General Comments: Got my rejections from Penn and Columbia earlier in the day, so I knew I'd get rejected from Princeton. Painful, but not exactly unexpected. Probably re-applying.
