[ ] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Come on, do you really think these are Princeton credentials? I’m actually very surprised at this outcome.
[ ] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Rejected at Oxford
[ b]General Comments:
Like I said, I was very much expecting to be outright rejected so this has come as a very pleasant surprise for me. Unfortunately, my grades went down these last two months, so any chance I had has pretty much been squashed. Congratulations to everybody that was accepted and good luck to the rest that were deferred. For those that were rejected, remember that this is only the start of the college process and that come March you will be accepted into a good college for sure.

Um, sorry about that.

Reflection
[] Strengths: See Hook. Was very involved in my community, not just through my ECs, but through some pretty unique projects. For example, I wrote up an economic proposal for my town, and I raised more than $12K for school student groups after our state cut the education budget.

[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: see weaknesses
[li] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: accepted to Rutgers, TCNJ, NJIT, and will apply to Caltech, UPenn, Columbia, Harvard, Yale, Cornell, and Brown PLME.[/li] [/ul]General Comments: Eh, for a slacker like me who until the summer before senior year thought I’d just go to my state school on a full scholarship, I guess I did better than I thought, having applied on such short notice. I really thought I’d be rejected with my weak extracurriculars. A hope of acceptance still remained, though, maybe because I thought I had gotten a boost from applying SCEA. Overall, kinda sad because a deferral for me means a rejection; my senior grades suck. Oh well, regular decision it is. In the end, the universe tends to unfold as it should (reference to Harold & Kumar).

[]Income Bracket:
[] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): URM & 1st Gen. [/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: Personality, recs, and GPA
[li] Weaknesses: Decent SAT (only took once) and SAT IIs (I didn’t want to waste my time retaking and retaking one dumb test that I feel doesn’t show who I really am)
[/li]

[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Because I tried to present myself as the person I truly was, a happy go-lucky optimistic person. Plus being Hispanic and 1st Gen helped
[] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I applied early to UVA (won’t hear back till Jan. 31)[/ul]

General Comments: A lower than average SAT score does not make the person. I think Princeton noticed that I’m a fun guy to be around and am very different. I might try hard but what really gives me an edge is my creativity, people-talking ability, and enthusiasm. Don’t be discouraged.

[] Teacher Recommendation: No idea
[] Counselor Rec: No idea
[] Additional Rec: I got one from my tennis coach. He really likes me, so that one should’ve been pretty good.

[/ul]Other[ul]
[] State (if domestic applicant): Vermont
[] Country (if international applicant): I am an Australian citizen, but I have a Green Card and go to school in the US

[] Gender: Male
[]Income Bracket: 100k to 140k
[li] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): None
[/li]

[/ul]Reflection:[ul]
[] Strengths: I’ve got some good musical accolades (when considered regionally). I thought that my essays were pretty good (at least when I originally sent them). I also got high standardized test score and have a pretty high GPA. Being from Vermont (a sparsely populated state) probably didn’t hurt either.
[] Weaknesses: Being Asian haha. I really haven’t done anything profound…
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Honestly… I’m not sure
[] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Accepted by the University of Vermont. I’ll probably apply to a few more schools before I call it quits on this whole college application thing![/ul]

General Comments: Some of you might be looking at what’s written above and thinking, “How the heck did this kid get in?!?” I’m don’t really know either. But hey, I’m not complaining!

Too lazy to write the subjective out but it was all good, interview was unbelievable. I play a ton of sports. Varsity Hockey (4 yrs Assistant Captain) Varsity Alpine Skiing (3 yrs MVP) Varsity Golf (2 yrs) Varsity Track and Field (2 yrs). President of Model UN, various awards from that. Various DECA awards, Started charity organization that has grown from 7 members to 600 in 3 years, to date it has raised over 75000 dollars for the UJA. I thought my essays were unique and well written. I’m disappointed but I was expecting it, really hoping to get in later on. Congrats to all of those who were accepted I’m reading your stuff over and you all deserve it. Same goes for the deferred/ rejected. Everyone is so amazing. It is an accomplishment just to have the scores, grades, ECs, etc… to even realistically consider a school like Princeton so be proud of that. We will all end up somewhere that is right for us.

Shoot. I just realized that the template that I had originally copy and pasted has some problems. Here’s a better version. Hopefully, enough of you will see it to use it:
