Just got an email from Princeton today with the name of my interviewer and a note that she should be contacting me shortly. I did a quick Google search to get a sense of her literature (since I could tell from the email provided that she’s a professor), and she seems perfect for my interests! History BA at Princeton and professor of feminist sociology at a nearby CUNY. I’m excited for it
That sounds amazing! I hope you are able to shine in your interview with your similar interest. Good luck @writergirl0316
I got an alumni interview notification from Princeton three weeks ago, but my interviewer has yet to contact me about it. Should I do something about it or just wait?
@collegeishard225 You should definitely contact your regional ASC chair or whoever notified you of the interview. Just in case your interviewer forgets.
I am yet to receive an interview call or even the initial message from the undergraduate office saying “someone will be in contact with you”. I was trying to keep calm, but I hear that Princeton interviews virtually everyone. Can someone explain to me why this could have happened?
I just got my interview invitation on Friday. Stay calm! Even if they cannot find an alum in your area to interview you, f they won’t count it against you.
Just had my interview. It was fire and the dude was chill
Even my interviewer hasn’t contacted me yet. Been over a week.
@primenumber
That happened to me so I emailed him thanking him for volunteering as an alumni interviewe (and that did the trick) and he contacted me immediately to schedule the interview.
My interview has officially been scheduled for this Wednesday!
I had my interview last Monday. Bit of a background, I am an international student. I felt my interviewer was very skeptical and cynical. She was maybe not too impressed with my answers. She asked me about my favorite book, and I am not sure if she found it justified the book I stated could be my favorite, which was a bit odd. The interview for sure didn’t feel chilled out. I also messed up a starting question, so I think she may not have liked me that much. I kind of got that sense even after, because when I wrote thanking her, I did not get any email back.
That is one hell of a butterfly effect!
@ram2621 I’m sure everything was okay, better than how you actually think it was! That’s what my friends taking Psychology would say. Let’s believe that’s true.
@ram2621 Maybe she just has no personality and you are reading into it. Stay positive! Just out of curiosity, what is your favorite book?
Uhhhh I haven’t received anything about a Princeton alumni interview. Is it because I applied as an economics major?
@MrElonMusk No. it’s based on availability in your area. My interviewer studied psychology and I applied for astrophysical sciences, if that helps you at all.
My daughter’s interviewer was an economics major. She enjoyed the interview. It might be good to note that these are people working full time jobs, have families, commutes and weekend commitments. They have to carve time out of their busy lives to interview potential candidates. It isn’t always easy.
@frazzledazzle My friends who applied to Princeton have had their interviews already. Should I contact Princeton or keep waiting?
Good input @Veryapparent to add to this, despite their volunteering of time, when they highly recommend an applicant and 3 out of 4 times the applicant still doesn’t get in, it must feel like a thankless task. Super appreciate the effort our local Princeton Club puts in, for the last several years, every applicant that wanted an interview, got one!
@MrElonMusk I’d let them know. I think the admissions office will be able to connect with the alumni network to get you paired up with a more–for lack of a better word–engaged and available interviewer.
If we were never contacted for an interview, should we send an email or accept that we aren’t going to be interviewed?
