@AGoodFloridian @SmartJarhead I agree with both of you. The pool will probably be relatively small but likewise competitive. Best of luck to all.
Do you all know if Princeton is going to do Alumni interviews for transfer students? I think I heard something about that.
@Eggyeol They don’t mention whether they do or don’t on the site, but I haven’t heard any mention of it. They might incorporate that into future transfer classes which would be cool but it’s kind of late to do that now. As far as I know, no other Ivy does interviews for transfer students (besides a specific college at Cornell, and UPenn, but the latter makes the request to you, not the other way around.)
Why is it late to do that? I thought it was still early. You are right that most Ivies don’t do transfer interviews.
@IndirectProofs In my experiences, most colleges have interview request deadlines around the middle of February. It’s not always the case- (like, I think Swarthmore is still accepting interview requests?), but we’re pretty deep into admissions seasons. It’s worth a shot if anyone wants to give them a call/email.
I’m heading to the campus tomorrow if the weather permits, so I can ask as well.
That is good to hear. Let us know what you find out, if you don’t mind. I want to know if they have started reading the applications yet. I’m so excited. That would be so nice if they did do interviews for us.
They do not do interviews for transfer applicants. I spoke to the admissions office.
@CC12342021 Thanks for letting us know!
Of course @AGoodFloridian! Decisions come out like May 15th?
Hopefully sooner.
Probably a little sooner, maybe 2nd week of May? It’s hard to really guess since is their first transfer class in a while. There’s no precedence hahah
I wish they would do mid April decisions like some other transfer schools but oh well. More waiting. I’m not sure how to pass the time outside of class and clubs.
Hopefully sooner is right. Princeton would be such a blessing and honor! Hopefully we get in and can call ourselves Princetonians!
Did anyone receive a likely letter?
@CC12342021 Whoooa there :)) I’ve never heard of transfer applicants receiving likely letters from any institution. It always struck me as a strategy to attract very talent incoming freshmen, at least from what I’ve seen here on CC.
@AGoodFloridian me niether, but someone on another transfer chat (I think UPENN) said that they did. That’s why I asked
I didn’t even know what a likely letter was and had to look it up lol.
That is a good question! I always wondered if they give likely letters to transfer students.
I’m ready for March to be over. I just want to move into April
@IndirectProofs I feel so too…though I might have the least chance of getting in, considering I’m an international student applying from a non-US college
