I treated it like a list.

I said “In 2011, I did blah blah blah… In 2012, I did blah blah blah”

My other three essays were more story-ish so I thought I’d just be straightforward. Being direct is always nice.

Yes, my summer essay was straightforward, that i did this then that etc etc,

Btw, already 1 Jan here, (12 18 AM), so Happy New Year guys !:D

Application submitted! Good luck everyone!

Haven’t sent yet. Mom and I are arguing over my essays. So happy I’ll be done after this one.

I’ve just under 30 hours to finish my app. I’ll be spending my NYE on the Princeton application haha

Just submitted my app! Finished with the college application process!

For the summers essay, mine was really short because I didn’t have a lot of activities, but I did things that were important to me, so yeah.

DONE! Feels good!

@stupiddorkyidiot, I just treated mine like a list. I was out of creative ideas haha. I didn’t use up most of the available characters which kind of worries me but oh well.

lucya01995, same here. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Well, my summer essay too was basically a list with three philosophical lines in the end! And I used up most of the space (~50 characters left).

That said, the summer essay is the only one I didn’t feel good about!!

Anyone willing to share how long their essay is?

I chose prompt 4 (use a favorite quotation from an essay or book you have read in the last three years) so I could re-use an essay I had previously written, but if I don’t amend it, it will be about 680 words. The length falls within the 5000 character maximum, but I was wondering if it is worth shortening.

Mine was 501 words. I wrote about who influences me most.

Just finalized my application and sent it off! woohoo! that was my last application that required effort. One easy safety school application and I’m done with all my applications!

^I dont remember my wordcount but it was around ~2600 characters iirc.
Are your recs all in? :o

@penn17:

For prompt 4, how did you recall which quote was your favorite?

@IvyLeague2020 she probably looked at her print preview of her supplement

@penn17, Mine was roughly 520 (including the quote) words. I think 680 is too much (including the quote), and probably needs to be cut down.

Is anyone having trouble registering for the Princeton Application Tracking System? I submitted my app only yesterday so I don’t know if that has anything to do with it.

I have the same problem. It is because their system hasn’t registered us yet.

Wait for the email.

Submitted, but I’m totally regretting the two adjectives I put down in the short answer questions. It’s going to be a long three months :(

Also, my summer “essay” was literally a sentence. Maybe a long run on sentence, but still.

So you have to write an essay about all of your high school summers and what you did during the summers?
