Official Princeton University SCEA Class of 2017 Thread!

So, who's planning on applying SCEA to Princeton?!

WAY too early for this. But me. And I’m nervous already.

I might, I want to visit first. It’s the closest Ivy being in NJ and I love the idea of the clubs you eat in. You might say it appeals to my inner prep.

so…anyone?

Me, because I just love it.

This…is jumping the gun. I wasn’t expecting to see 2017 related material until, like, August.

Nevertheless, possibly me. :)

(But I have to get a second halfway decent SAT II score before even thinking about Princeton…)

I might, but only if I cannot see any other school I like that has higher rates for EA/ED. I wish SCEA acceptance rates were higher at Princeton…

Still, it would be nice to know the decision.

Me!!! Omg i’ve wanted to go to princeton my whole life!!!

@PPurpleRock95 SAT IIs don’t really matter. Can’t hurt to have them good, but won’t make a huge difference.

I might! Depending on if I broke 2300 on this June SAT (comes out tomorrow, so nervous >.<)

Oh man…SAT II’s tomorrow.
Wait…is it tomorrow (midnight) Eastern time?

Nope Ivymania. Still not haha. It’s 11:26. And usually it’s 5 am EST.

Got that 2300! Haha. I’ll probably apply SCEA now that my objective stats are pretty much set.

Sigh…I’m thinking about it. My scores are still not yet up to par yet though :frowning: Still need to take the SAT 1 and one more SAT 2 to even think about this amazing school… akjnsdjkasd.

:)

I’m in the same boat as you, IChewWaffles. I just got my SAT scores back and they are terrible (1900). Hopefully my ACT scores are better!

I’m definitely applying SCEA. Princeton is my dream school.

You know guys, I’m a prefrosh Class of '16, and I’ll tell you, scores aren’t nearly as important as you think. Don’t let poor objective stats keep you from applying.

I got a 31 on my ACT and an 1890 on my SAT. My SAT IIs were an 800 and a 690. Obviously, not “good” (at least by HYPS standards).

But, nonetheless, I let my personality/experiences come through with my essays, etc.

Of course, I’m not saying that if you have under 30 or 1900 that you should not try again, but I do have a very good friend who is Harvard Class of '15 who got in with a 29 ACT and two SAT II’s under 700.

Instead of stressing over these, do something interesting. Throw off the bowlines. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. (Sorry for the cheesy ending)

alexcuad, thanks for the encouragement. It’s good to know that Princeton cares more about just scores and that they truly do look at the entire applicant. And congrats on being accepted!

alexcuad, do you have any hooks? are you URM? first generation?

DrGoogle, I am a URM, but when I talked with my admissions counselor at Preview (which by the way I definitely recommend for those of you who get in), he didn’t even know that. Instead, he pretty much remembered my entire essay and repeated it back to me, telling me why it was the ESSAY that got me in. I was thoroughly impressed.
