I assume by range y’all mean sat/act? Because I just scrolled through and saw 2010, 2250, 2270, 2290, and some 34’s that were accepted. All what I guess one could say are abnormal. Too bad these are the only criteria (criterion?) easy to compare across-the-board.

On all sorts of things, SATs being the most obvious. But there were “subpar” GPAs, low SAT II’s, iffy extracurriculars, etc. I saw at least two with a sub-2000 SAT, some with self-admitted poor essays, etc, etc. It still baffles me to see perfect SATs outright rejected, though, as objectively meaningless those tests are.

Perfect SAT’s mean you are really, really good at writing standardized tests. Although those numbers seem to be a heavy focus on CC, I think the admissions departments tend to use test scores more to indicate a range of proficiency in given subject areas. Scores are only one part of the equation.

Well Harvard accepted 18% more people this year than last year. Considering Princeton overenrolled last year and had a lot more applicants, I doubt that the good fortunes of those who were accepted to Harvard will be granted to as many Princeton applicants.

Yale students are receiving their decisions!
We still have 4 more days of this torture!!! I need distractions…

I just finished my finals, so now I have nothing occupying my mind anymore and my facebook is filled with acceptance statuses. This is going to be a fun 4 days.

^ statuses. They are killing me.

Where I live at, many people have already been accepted to their top choice/dream college. Well, I hope that some magic is in the air! The wait is torture. But we can do it!

Yes the statuses are killing me. I already personally know 3 yale acceptances, 3 harvard acceptances, and 2 stanford acceptances. I just want to find out already!

Wow… I don’t know anyone who has been accepted to an Ivy. Where I live, my SAT score is twice what some people get I haven’t told many people that I even applied to Princeton lol

bregle, I’m in the same boat. I’m fairly certain I’m the only one at my school that even applied to an ivy or any other selective school early. Maybe that will help us though, since we’re from an underrepresented area. (fingerscrossed)

haha, but then again, I do live in NJ so that will only hurt me. oh wellls.

Did anyone on this thread ever receive a letter from the Dean of Admission asking you to consider Princeton during the past year?

I’m pretty sure I did. I don’t remember since I got so many. But I’m pretty sure they just send them out to everyone who is in their general score range.

@bregle
I am with you on that. Where I live…no one gets accepted to ivy+ schools.
So…if I get in, I’ll be a hero :D

I was reading the SCEA thread for Harvard just now. So you know, they have gotten into a massive flame war against minorities and Affirmative Action in general. Considering that we are all potential Princetonians, I hope that everyone here would agree not to bicker about decisions we cannot change.

On a more positive note, only 88 hours left before the decisions are released! Make sure you register on Princeton’s site, since it would be absolutely miserable not to be able to see your status asap. Also remember that, because we are CC members and we are already a more dedicated and academic crowd as a whole, the admit rate for CC-using applicants to Pton is likely to be much, much higher than for regular applicants!

@ivymania
I am in the same boat! Nobody in my school, or even in my town, has sent a student to the Ivy League for as long as anyone can remember. If I somehow get in, a pillar of light will most certainly shine down upon me as I sit in my 5th hour class…

I totally agree with Anonymous. I saw Columbia’s thread go totally crazy with AA attacks. There are plenty of qualified people from all backgrounds who apply and at the crux of it, it’s pretty much whether your luck allowed the admissions officers to see the best in you.
We get a few Ivies every year from our school (not more than maybe 5, but that’s still pretty significant, I think). I know most people applied to Harvard and Stanford though–I feel like I’m the most qualified that applied SCEA to Princeton (in the quantitative stats, anyway).
I’ve seen one Harvard and one Yale so far and it’s making me anxious. I hope I can round out the big three from our school! crosses fingers And since Tuesday is the day I don’t have any class, I just have to sit at home and watch as the seconds pass by…

Yeah our school sends around 3 or 4 Ivies a year, but normally its Brown, Upenn, and Cornell. Never Princeton! But I went to a camp during the summer and so far all of them have gotten into an ivy. Crazy, right?

Egyptian here. According to my interviewer, no Egyptian got into Princeton for at least 20 years; that is assuming that Egyptians do apply.

^ and I thought nobody from my country was accepted! Last person to be accepted from my country was about two years ago. We usually get one person every 2-3 years.

So agonizing!

Guess I should just forget about the results and go do other useful things, like writing essays. Lol.

Princeton has received some but not all of the required pieces of your application. Items not yet received are listed on this page. Please do your best to make sure we receive the missing item(s) as soon as possible.

^Does anyone else’s tracking system say this?
I’m freaking out a little. haha but I’m hoping it’s a mistake…
