Official Princeton University SCEA Class of 2017 Thread!

Deferred! Surprisingly I don’t feel all that sad, and I don’t think it’s because I’m in denial. This is already more than I expected since I was picturing rejection, and for the past few weeks I’ve been preparing myself for bad news. So this is a win in my pocket, even though I don’t know if I’m in college till late March. Congrats to all who got accepted, you guys were more than qualified! If fortune smiles upon me, maybe I’ll see you there? :)

beo, to at least find out if you were accepted theres always the admitted website.

how many people were deffered…? Can anybody find any released stats on the numbers rejected and deferred. I am extremely curious

Princessk21 - I’m depressed too… I don’t know what to do with myself lol

Honored and humbled to be accepted. Good luck to all in your future endeavors!

2017 prefrosh- welcome! so many posts about you guys on facebook, we are all so excited to meet you.

deferred/not admitted- don’t lose hope! this doesn’t take away from any of your achievements or the joy you put into them. just by having the guts to apply means a lot.

Morethanluck…you got deferred?

do princeton post the exact number of people got deferred? it seems other schools has posed it after they released the decision.

Can’t. Believe. This.
ACCEPTED!

I’ve been praying for this every day since I applied.

Congrats to everyone who got in! PM me your facebook names?

To those who didn’t make it - You guys are still as amazing as ever. There is definitely something in store for all of you.

Thanks everyone, for making this wait bearable. Good luck!

Deferred. I know this sounds crazy, but I’m actually pretty damn pleased. I have a 3.46 WEIGHTED GPA, and only a 2100 SAT. The fact that I was even deferred is beyond incredible to me. Congrats to all that were accepted, I couldn’t be happier for you.

Son deferred and already back in the saddle and heading to an interview 30 minutes from now. With 4.93 GPA, 2360 SAT on his first try, great essays (okay, yes, I am the mom) and really solid ECs…makes one wonder who about who all you accepted kids are? But good for you!

We’ve been saying all along that if deferred leads to admitted, along with some other admission at equally terrific schools, it’s empowering to feel like you are choosing Princeton (or any place else you end up).

Beo are you black? I am black and I had like a 3.67…2140… 750 620 subject tests… and they just rejected me. I also went to college. Literally- texas academy of math and science. you’re telling me you got deferred?

Nope, I’m white as white can be, my friend. I can assure you I was deferred. I had extremely strong essays (writing is my strong point) and letters of recc from lawyers I’ve worked for and such. My APs were also all 5’s. I’m sorry you got rejected. I hate how much of a crapshoot it all was.

No I mean I’m glad I got rejected and not deferred. The rates for being accepted off that 56% of the applicant pool list are so low I would be ****ed. However it makes me wonder exactly what Princeton wants. Alas, theres always vanderbilt, stanford and columbia in the RD round, also places i have no hopes for. Nice job! how were your subject tests, for documentation?

So wait. 56% get deferred. I feel like we are at somewhat of a disadvantage, since we’ve already been passed over, so that says something about our files.

Ugh now I’m just worried about other places, schools I actually want to go to. Like Rice.

Is the rate at 56%? I didn’t think anyone knew for sure yet. My SAT II’s were good, 800 in US History and 700 in Lit. I’ll probably take Lit again since I was displeased with it. Good luck on your other apps, man.

alargeblackman14 Yes, I was deferred. I had terrible test scores, but my writing might have been my saving grace that allowed me to be deferred instead of rejected. And on a side note, are you applying to Vandy? I think i’m gonna apply there for ed2

So I really like the idea of posting stats and stuff on here, so here we go. i saw this format on another college’s site, nobody has to follow it but I figured I’d give it a go

General Comments: So incredibly amazed that I was Deferred instead of rejected. Literally hanging my letter up on my wall tonight.

Yeah, I’m applying to vandy. But I doubt ill make it.

Fosicle you didn’t take any subject tests? I’m starting to see how things work with princeton now. And deferral rate was 56 % last year, it might even be more seeing as how they lowered the admit rate.
