Official Princeton University SCEA Class of 2017 Thread!

Going Princeton SCEA 2017. Realized that for my early application I want to apply to the college I love the most, not the one I have the greatest chance at. If I get in, no way I touch another application. Physics major here, without ever going near science competitions =D. I always have tried to be the well-rounded type, but if I have any hook at all, it would be research/internships.

@EveyLi, I am anxiously waiting for it too.

Also waiting for the supplement >.< …Applying to Georgetown SFS early action though! Good luck to everyone, and hopefully we’ll find ways to distract ourselves senior year. Lol, probably not.

I finally found the supplement…it’s pretty much the same as last year’s. Good luck on your apps, guys

pton early action for me. still might pick harvard over pton if i get in regular decision and end up getting into both though…

Just decided to apply EA to Princeton! This’ll be a fun ride!

**** do we have to send in 1st quarter grades??? I know what it says on the website but it looks like i might get 2 A-'s and a B+ for quarter grades in contrast to my 4.0 uw gpa. Can I like avoid it or something? Maybe they won’t ask my counselor?

@dawg - you can include whatever you wish on your application but if they specifically ask for information and you don’t include it, your application will be incomplete. Your grades are important but there are many other parts to the application where you can shine.

But it doesnt specifically say to do so on the application, and i looked at threads from the past and it seems that people may have not sent in quarter grades idk. And the only way to really find out about it is to stalk pton website and go to early action FAQ ***. y isnt it just in the early action main part

The website says to send first quarter/ first trimester grades if possible. it doesnt say it is recquired, simply recommended

21 more days until SCEA deadline!

Just send it in so you don’t have to worry about it being late. That’s what I had to do for physics (for engineering) but I know that I got a sub-700 score:/ knowing your score won’t change the fact that you will eventually need to send it.

Anyways, I applied early for engineering! Good luck everyone! Only about 2 months until we get our decisions!

Nope but I sent in my app about 3 weeks ago! And I’m sure it helps, it’s just more room for us to talk about ourselves=) although my entire app and common app supports the idea that I genuinely want to become an engineer, except for my physics score! Are you applying for engineering?

Whoops double post://

If you like princeton definitely apply, but you don’t have to apply to engineering if don’t actually want to be an engineer and your scores don’t reflect a math/science person. And if You do want to be an engineer just switch in early if you get in. You’ll never know if you don’t apply=)

Hey, does anyone know when their online art supplement thing is going to be up? It looks like it won’t be before the ea deadline, so I might as well just send in my paper copy. Sigh

As of about a week ago, looks like I’ll be applying to Princeton SCEA as well.

Was originally set for Dartmouth ED all July/August after I visited, but I began to realize - from my own research and from student testimonials - that Dartmouth may not be me. At the very least, I didn’t want to commit myself ED there. Visited Princeton a while ago (spent a couple weeks in a summer program at Princeton a couple years ago) and cemented by underlying desire to apply SCEA.

May fortune favor us!

Hello fellow Princeton SCEA-ers (if we can be called that :P)
I have a question:
My employer emailed his recommendations to both Umich and Princeton in the same email. Will either of them use this against me (i.e. that I am applying to another college early)?

Precarious:

I don’t know about Umich, but Princeton shouldn’t! That’s a public school, and applying to public schools early is allowed by SCEA, so it shouldn’t be a problem.

On a side note though…employer recommendation? I had thought about asking my bosses for one, but I didn’t see any opportunity to submit one on the common app/supplement.

SCEA’er here  Anyone else sending in a supplemental recommendation? We’re supposed to email those right?

Anyone know when the portal is going to open? That’s what the PIN on the application is for right?

Applying from Canada! (Tough I know…)
But my October SAT is “not available yet.” Freaking out…
I hope my olympiad records help me get in.
