lol, i figured the pool would just get bigger and bigger. i just hope they don’t delay the decision date due to late application arrivals. that would absolutely suck.

a friend of mine emailed the admissions office. they are currently planning on releasing decisions around the 17th.

Yay got my interview email! I’m looking forward to it.

I am a day late, but I would just like to say: I am greatful that in just over three weeks we will know our fates

Has anyone heard of any change for the decisios date?

morethanluck-- unfortunately, princeton deferred a large number of students last year, so many of us will likely be stuck waiting much longer!

just did my interview! it was at starbucks and very conversation-oriented. my only regret is that I should have been drinking decaf!

GetExcited - On their website it still says they will be available by Dec. 15th.

[Princeton University | Application Dates & Deadlines](http://www.princeton.edu/admission/applyingforadmission/deadlines/)
On there it says “mid-december” If only what was there exact date for mid-december.

Not to hop on board late, but I applied SCEA! Can’t wait to hear. I adored it when I visited last fall.

How much of this SCEA class do you think is going to be athletes?

Gah this waiting is torturous. Does anyone know if they are releasing decisions BY the 15th (in reference to what is stated on the website) /17th (in reference to what Desafinado said) or ON that date?

Also, is the decision emailed or mailed first (if I opted for the email along with the letter)? I would think emailing is much quicker, but just to be sure.

baddriver - that stinks. But I guess I would rather be deferred than rejected.

guresu - I believe they email the decision on the day of release and mail them out on that day, too. So you would get the online decision first

btw, here’s the numbers on the scea pool last year:

3443 applied
726 admitted (21%)
1921 deferred (56%)
796 rejected (23%)
source: [726 offered early admission - The Daily Princetonian](http://www.dailyprincetonian.com/2011/12/16/29701/)

hopefully this was just a large deferral group because princeton was still figuring out the scea system! it looks like an awful lot of kids stuck in limbo to me.

^ I have almost the same chance to be accepted or rejected. :)

Well last year had a much smaller applicant pool…
and princeton can’t select as many people as last year because of this year’s overhousing.
:(

Hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving
Let’s just forget about the crazy decision that’s coming up soon.

kim7564: There’s an overhousing issue? Well, shoot. Okay, let’s get lost in a turkey coma.

^ Agreed. All I want for Christmas is a Princeton acceptance.

I also wouldn’t mind a pony. But that’s just me.

I wish we could all get in. Coming from a developing country in Central America, receiving a letter of acceptance from this university would be a blessing for my family. Even though we might not get the decisions that we all want, I am glad that I applied SCEA to Princeton - the school that I love the most. All in all, I am happy that I gave it a shot! Good luck to everyone else out there and happy holidays from Nicaragua!

P.S. I hope decisions are released earlier than the 17th!

thanks, kim7564. didn’t realize it but yeah there’s 50-65 extra students in class of '16.
i guess more scea apps this year will make rejection #s go up, but others stay the same.
3791 applied 726 admitted 19% 1921 deferred 51% 1144 rejected 30%
or something like that? for some reason I still find these numbers comforting. something about most likely NOT being rejected (in december at least) yayyy!

I’d rather be rejected than deferred in December, honestly. I think that if I get rejected, I’ll cry and be sad for a little bit but I’ll move on. Waiting another 4 months sounds like torture.
