guresu, it’s just that last year more students enrolled among the acceptees than was expected. I met an admission officer and he said that they didn’t have proper housing for all the students this year. so, for this year, he pretty much said that they can’t go over again. i guess that means less chance for us.

i still haven’t gotten my interview.
i’m just going to assume that i probably won’t get one in time for judgement day.

kim7564 - that’s ok. I submitted my application in late October, and got an email regarding my interview last Tuesday morning, and had it on Thanksgiving. I guess that there is still time for interviews, because I was also offered an interview for next week, or the next one after that. If you don’t get am interview, it will not count against you! Good luck :)

it seems like admission to pton is going to a be crapshoot for me, especially as an asian. but best of luck to you! hope you get a interviewer that you can relate to!

@kim7564 - I would encourage you to contact admissions if you have not received an e-mail about an interview. They offer interviews to all applicants so you should have one unless you are in an underrepresented area.

In terms of the class of 2016 - more students accepted admissions offers than they anticipated in the new single choice early action process. Because of the housing restrictions, they need to readjust their numbers back to the target as soon as reasonably possible. The plan as I understand it is to reduce the admissions numbers for the next 3 years by 18 students each year to return to the target number of students. In the interim, they have revamped some spaces, and increased the number of students in certain rooms (by 1 to 2 for example) to provide housing for everyone. Thankfully they are spreading the readjustment over 3 years and are not trying to fix it all in one year. This is good news for the class of 2017.

@Desafinado: I haven’t been contacted yet either. I may call the admissions office, but since I live in a more rural area, I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t have an alumnus available for interviews here.

All this talk about cutting down class sizes is freaking me out. I’m definitely not expecting an offer of admission, but a tiny part of me can’t but hope and dream! Urghhhhhhh

I hope decisions letters aren’t delayed more than a day or two. Best of luck to you all!!!

PS: Anyone else see a trailer for that movie Admission, starring Tina Fey as a Princeton admissions officer? Came up on YouTube like ten minutes ago. It feels like the entire universe is constantly reminding me of my impending judgment…

^^ derivative22, I’m from Southern California and I was contacted for my interview earlier this week. My interviewer said that we needed to do it by December 3, so you should definitely call Princeton to make sure you’ll be able to arrange an interview in time.

Ahh! I just got back from my interview. It was kind of lackluster. I’m terrible about talking about myself and my accomplishments. It’s so… awkward. My interviewer was super nice though. Also, really hard to read. I could not tell what he was thinking. I just hope he had a positive impression of me.

I beleive around 4pm EST, but that is on school days. If they release results on the 15th then it will be a Saturday, so I would guess still 4pm, but who knows. I am sure they will send us all updates within the next few weeks telling us more details

Did you guys check out the “Prognosis of Class of 2017-SCEA-Admission Statistics” thread for Princeton? It freaked me out a bit more than I needed. Admission to this school sure is crazyyy.
