Hey, everyone! Scores are coming out for everyone about now. Why don't you post your score here so you can get bashed or praised? I'll start first -

185 (Junior Year)

A ten-point improvement from last year for me! I was really hoping for 200+, but I didn't study, so whatever. I will study the SAT for a 2000+.

Sadly I haven’t gotten my scores yet. But I’ve already started receiving stuff in the mail from colleges which I believe is from answering yes on receiving material from colleges regarding my score. I know that these mailings mean nothing, but that shows that our scores have been released. I just need to know what I got. lol You guys are lucky to have already gotten your scores. Good job both of you. :)

its not exactly a live or die situation for me, but i got a 200 on my psats
i didnt really care about them at all until i realized that im actually close to being commended
i know that the cutoff last year was a 200
do you think i have a chance?
i also know a girl who got a 198 and she was in the 96th percentile which is the same exact curve from last year

i got an 181 last yr my soph yr. this yr exactly the same…b/c of medical problems that caused to not be able to see during the test. but this is only PSAT so i’m not worrying too much. i could’ve gotten an 800 on math if i didn’t have stuuuupid mistakes like putting ‘00’ istead of ‘900’. bleh

anyway, how do u do #28 in math. form S? i still can’t figure that one out for some reason…

I got a 181! An 11 point increase for me :D:D:D! I was hoping for a 200+ but, I only did the booklet and one SAT test to “study” and I’m outta shape in my reading so. I got a 57, 64, 60 I think.. So not terrible…

One kid got a 223, the highest my school has had like ever. The next highest was a 197, then 183, then me. So I’m not too bummed

fireflyscout…since you seem to be the resident expert on PSAT here on CC, I have a question. What is the reason why schools hold the scores until January? I sent an email to the principal today asking when they expect to release scores to students. I’m not expecting a direct response from her (rarely does she ever give one!), but I’m wondering what the motives for holding them are?

Well you didn’t ask me but, from what I’ve gathered CB tends to like schools to be able to go over and explain every aspect of the PSAT with its takers And usually December is the busiest month for Guidance Counselor’s so it’s easier for them to sit down with the students after Break.

Astrophysicsmom, Kayleigh is correct. In addition, the schools receive the score reports, which they then have to match up with the test booklets (which the schools retained). During December, counselors are extremely busy with college recommendations, and students/parents are busy with concerts, etc.

I know it’s hard to wait, especially when others are already receiving their scores, but the time will pass and, unless you are planning to take the January SAT and want to prepare, there’s really no hurry. And no one is going to find out if they are even at the commended level until May, or semifinalist until late August. I have no idea why National Merit likes to stretch the process out so long- I’d really like the answer for that.

Those who have received scores please list that State that you are from and whether you go to a private or public HS and if you took the Wed or Sat test. Maybe there will be a pattern as to who is getting their scores so early. It’s possible that many HS don’t have them yet, right?

My son is in a private school in Virginia, took the test on a Wed and got his score yesterday (Thursday). He got a 209. I have no idea what that means!
