*OFFICIAL PSAT THREAD 2014 (US)*

around 70 flat prolly

@meaa7130 lmao are you actually in jail? I thought that was just your profile picture you put on.

@glasshours I forget everything after a test. What was the question

@Imgolden62 did you not get the packet? Idk why everyone is asking these questons, it is in the student guide. CB estimates about 70.

@fluterazzle9013‌ 99% sure it was impromptu. I did take into consideration what you said but judging from everything surrounding the question it is highly suggests that it was on the spot. Not only did it say she exhausted her repertoire, which makes it supported directly from the passage, but also it makes logical sense. “How old are you” is something people would only ask in interviews if you’re really out of material to ask and need to prolong the conversation.

Where I know I am:
Math: -1 (I mis bubbled…) – I thought math was a joke but everything else I talked thought it was much harder than normal – Curve: 80, 76, 73, 70, 68 … (Normal to Harsh curve)
Writing: All correct – This section was abnormally difficult, especially with the preposterous EEEE – 80, 79, 76, 71, 69 … (Lenient curve)
CR: -3 to -5 – Vocabulary was much, much easier than normal but the passages, as we can see, have been debatable and sometimes abstract compared to past PSATs – 80, 80, 79, 77, 74, 72, 70, 69, 67 … (Generous curve)

Does anyone remember the question with answer choices remonstrance and miasma? I put remonstrance, but now I’m sure both answers aren’t right :-/

@icequeenforever‌ i put remonstrance too. dont.remember the q tho sorry : (
also on phone explains mh crappy posts

I went with impertinent because the sensei’s age was an irrevelant topic to bring up during the interview.

answer was panacea. I was super lucky and just happened to know that

I didn’t even get that question. Only one I left blank.

Does any one have curve predictions? I probably got 0/-1/-2 CR, -3 M, -2/-3 W and the cutoff in my state is 215. Do I still have a shot?

@shinchang‌ I know now the answer was panacea, which means solution. Darn it.

@Chumps‌ I don’t think only -2 is possible on this test… But
CR: 77
M: 72
W: 73
The curves for the PSAT are insanely stupid.

Can you calculate mine
CR: -2/3 1 left blank
W: -1

I already missed the panacea question
So many E’s in writing…So. Many. E’s.
Math missed two for sure.

For the question on sensei’s age, I answered probing.

“Crimson leaves,
Falling”

Quote of the year

@icequeenforever‌ ??? i always thought panacea had to do with attitude and flair

o actually is that panache… orz

what was the one about the behaviorial one did you guys say humans self desire improvement one?

Was the one with Bonnie and Clyde
Doctor… Altruistic??

Where is this student guide with the conversion tables everyone is talking about for the 2014 test?? Is there a link someone can send? Thanks

@1golfer1 Do you mean -3? But yeah if I got that third one wrong it would have been a -4.
@PSAT2014TAKER‌ I would say CR: 77-75 and W: 78-77

Can someone please send me the link to the conversion tables

Any takers? Just curious as to what others think of my score…thanks!

Math 0
reading missed 1
Writing missed 3 or 4 ughh

I live in Texas with the cutoff of 218 this last year. Do yall think I have a chance?
