*OFFICIAL PSAT THREAD 2014 (US)*

You were finding the probability of landing in the shaded area I think.
The shaded area’s area was like 88 right?

Also, when I redid the area shaded question, Im getting pi -2 / 2? How do you get pi in the denominator?

@puppylove97‌ you were finding the ration of the shaded region’s area to the whole circle’s area

it had to be π -2/π

What was the qualification question

@Chrysanthemum14 Yea i know that I knew it the moment i turned in the test. I actually had that answer first but changed it for some reason to “to” cause i thought “to” needed either even though it doesnt lol. What were the other no errors on the writing section?

for that question with the square surrounded by six rectangles (2 by 5 each) and you had to find shaded area, did anyone else get 30

@onlythebest13‌ Please estimate!!!

M: -0
CR: -7
W: -1

@Chrysanthemum14‌ how are you getting 88? there were no numbers in the problem.

YO IN THE NEGATIVE POLITICAL PASSAGE WHAT WAS THE PURPOSE QUESTION WHERE TWO ANSWEr CHOISES WERE " TO SHOW HIS QUALIFICATION" AND “” TO DESCRIBE A METHOD"

Hey guys! I’m currently a high school senior and I just got back my PSAT results (about NMSF standing) about a month ago. Feel free to ask me any questions

Did the question say you would draw one color after another? Because if not you can draw 12 of the same color before getting anything else

@jmahr1127‌ yeah but you want to 100% certain that you will get 3 of any color. doesn’t matter which one. If you drew 12 of the same color, then you would have only needed to draw 3 to get three of the same color. But to be certain, you would have had to draw 7

The answer for the marbles is seven.

@YoohooAddict Yes

@onlythebest13 How’s the curve like on your PSAT? like how were the penalties for getting questions wrong the the CR writing and math?

YO ON NEGATIVITE POLITICAL PASSAGE THEERE WAS A QUESTION THAT ASKED WHAT THE PURPOSE OF THIS LINE WAS AND CHOICES WERE “TO SHOW QUALIFICATIONS " and “” TO DESCRIBE A METHOD OR SOOMEHING” I PUT THE LATTER
