the paragraph about the physicists people.. i dont remember what the question was but they compared something like "models" to "educated guesses" .. anyone remember?

also there was one fill in the blank about the girl being nervous to go to school or something? i totally forgot what i put but any help on the answer would be appreciated?

the answer was "he provided an example of ... blah" i think. i dont agree with the justifying a statement made earlier. i think this was one of the trick questions made in the test. just because the passage "hinted" this question, having a story about a guy who didnt like the river so much anymore, doesnt mean that he doesnt gain anything when he chooses his field (which was the question at the end of the passage meant), but us humans use our mind and think that way, although the passage doesnt say it. you guys see what i mean. it was a common mistake i made on the SAT and i believe this could be an example of it.

cool.... I agree with you that the judgement answer was wrong .... but I dont see how the answer "he provided an example of different situations" is right ...... in the first paragrpah of the passage h describes how he use to have a passion for his profession .. in the second paragraph he describes how he lost that passion ... In the third paragrpah he says that he feels bad for doctors because they are just like him ...... So, imo, the answer providing examples of different sitations is wrong .... they are not different situations when you take the passage as a whole - they are both meant to mean that as you gain knowledge in your profession, you lose passion for it .....so, based on that .... i dont think it can be "provided an exmample of different situations"...

April .... for the triangle question, it is either 11,12, (and maybe 2 - i am not sure)..... I picked 11 to be on the safe side

Edit : This is based on the triangle inequality (two sides must be bigger than the third) ... JYankees, why did u use the pyth . theorem - i dont think it was necessary in this problem

yes there were more than one answer. any number holds if it is always less than the other sides added. I put 11.
11 < 12 + 2
12 < 11 + 2
2 < 11 + 12

jyankees - i thought about that, in order for something to be unique, it does not have to be an isolated event. i understand what you're saying, and it makes sense, but i still think it was that because of how the author said something about how he "understands" the doctors (something allong those lines). initially, i eliminated that answer but when the others didnt satisfy the question very well, i reconsidered it and felt it was the right one

it is not a unique situation. remember those questions he asked at the end? they were very general, for almost anything. he pointed out the doctor also to show how other people with other professions face the same problem. so it is not a unique situation.

I put 12 for the triangle inequality. It's anything between 10 and 14 would work right? I also put the CR question was not a unique situation. I don't remember exactly what i chose though.
