Just received an email from QuestBridge.
As expected, I did not get matched with any of the four colleges I ranked.

Still, I don’t feel like QuestBridge was an wasted effort at all. Being Finalist has afforded me some convenience (some partner colleges accept QB app in lieu of the Common App and its supplement) and advantages. I’m thankful for that and for being given such a great opportunity.

Okay. So I didn’t get matched… But now that I’m applying through the Regular Decision can I apply to schools I did not rank and still get an application waiver? Also, how much financial aid would I get if I got accepted? What is it based on, they said it can be just as much as the Match Scholarship.

Yes, any of the partner schools will give an application waiver. Just when you get to payment, choose “other” and state QB finalist.

The school will determine your financial aid. It is based on your FAFSA/CSS information… generally your income. For example, Yale and Stanford do not require any EFC for incomes under $65k I believe. So the package is the same as though you were matched with either of those schools.

^^ my friend from Cali. got selected to UPenn.

I just found out, he was offered to try out to play football for UPenn

so jealous cuz stanford did not talk to me about football T.T (we are both captains of varsity football teams, both selected as player of the year)

Thought I’d jump no here to say congrats to all those matched and offer (((hugs))) to those who weren’t. My ds, class of 2010, wasn’t matched but got into a QB school in the regular round. He ended up choosing a top 10 LAC that wasn’t a QB school and is super-happy. You will be, too. Good luck!

So happy for those that got matched! … and for those that got Finalist but did not get matched - hang in there - the best may be yet to come!
My GS was a Finalist, but did not get matched - he is now in his 2nd year at HARVARD w/full ride - can’t do better than that!!!
Questbridge is a fantastic program and all of you are lucky to have been given the chance to participate.
The very best of luck for a bright future!

omggg congrats rajkobie!!! so does that mean you go to stanford now??
and haha ya that is weird, how does that even work with you getting rejected at UVa.

also, if you PLEASE could post your stats?
it would be SO SO appreciated!! :))

My daughter is a junior at Swarthmore. She was a QB finalist but not matched. Through RD she was an early write at Swat and accepted at Amherst. Don’t worry if you were not matched (like she and I both did! lol). Both schools offered her full ride in RD. She now mentors two freshmen QB students - pay it forward!! Good luck to you all!

I honestly don’t even know how I became a Questbridge finalist since my grades seem so sub-par compared to everyone else’s. As of right now, I might actually get a D in AP Calculus due to extenuating circumstances at home coupled with lacking competence in the field of mathematics. I guess I’m just wondering if that will completely affect my chances of getting in to a partner school. I would really like to attend Northwestern, UChicago, or Columbia, but I’m almost certain I just killed all my chances of getting in.

@thecontender which schools did you apply to for QB? What if I do not have test scores to submit before the QB application is due? I do not want to submit my subject tests b/c I bombed them, and I am not sure if I want to send my SAT score either. I just want to wait until I take the ACT in September and the SAT subject tests in October.
