Official Questbridge National College Match 2010-2011

I think I’ll do…

 1. Stanford
 2. MIT
 3. Princeton
 4. Yale
 5. UPenn
 6. Columbia
 7. Notre Dame

Although these are all fine institutions, I would consider the workload of applying to all them even through QuestBridge. Some are a lot of work. I would go as far as to say…rushed.

Submitted it today sadly. It says though after I went back that you wouldn’t be able to go back and edit your rankings.

I’ve so far heard that if you’re a finalist you may change the order and delete some if you’d like (in addition to submitting another agreement form haha).

These papers are getting mighty tedious…I thought application essays and transcripts were a pain. It seems the real work is in the financial aid papers -.-

^^Oh, I see and yeah, I’ve definitely put a lot more work into QB than my other apps. All those short answers, lol. And I agree! Financial aid is what is going to kill me. I don’t live with either of my parents so trying to get them to give me all their info for the CSS is tiring. I’m like, “Come on! You want me to get a good scholarship, don’t you?!”

Haha I just received the notification email too. Woot!
@ restlessabandon … Very true… Now all we have to do is wait. And I also ranked USC :)

The confirmation email is just the one where it reminds us to submit a ranking form and such, right?

^That’s the one

I’m actually sticking with the regular decision selection process. Probably less demanding (and practical) than the full College Match application process, especially because I have slightly higher EFC than most college match applicants.

Do we know if the announcement date for our finalist status has been moved back from Oct 22 because of the server problems and extended deadline?

I’m not sure if this has been asked before…
If you’re not selected as a finalist, can you still apply ED to another school? Williams is the only one I ranked – obviously, I would be insanely happy if I did become a finalist and get matched. But I was wondering…if I’m not chosen as a finalist, can I still submit an app to Williams ED (after the 22nd)? Or would this violate the agreement? I assumed that if you’re not chosen as a finalist with the chance of getting matched, you’re no longer bound by the agreement. It doesn’t clarify this on the website, so I’m not sure…

I know that by the November 1 deadline you can rearrange the order of schools but you aren’t allowed to add new ones. I would like to know if you can delete a school from your ranking. Thank you.

^ Arydesia, check out this link; I think it answers your question: [QuestBridge National College Match - Regular Decision Table for Non-Finalists](QuestBridge)

cm1251: You will be able to withdraw applications from schools that you previously ranked provided that you final.

Or at least… that’s what Questbridge said. I think you’ll have to resubmit the Match Agreement Form though.

Can someone confirm we are able to delete colleges off our Match list after submitting? (There’s one I’m wishy-washy on, and if this is true, I’ll just put it on there and delete if necessary.)

@HardcoreParkour: I’d like to know the answer to that question. I have a college that I’m ehhh about too :/

thanks, recklessabandon!

@hardcoreparkour and swimmingchicken

I emailed Questbridge with this question a couple of months ago, and yes, you may delete up till November 9th.

Thanks coocoocachoo!

how do you delete colleges? is it after you have been selected as a finalist that the choice is given?

I’m looking through the extra materials for finalists… does anyone know how we will get an ID number? On last year’s forum it sounds like they got it a day or so before the application was due :frowning: Don’t know…
