Oh my goodness just received the Bucknell Math Scholars 10K Scholarship in the mail today…beyond overwhelmed
@Yocco1 How are you? Yes I see you all over too our kids have applied to all of the same schools. I think my D will go to BC but we are waiting on a few more…but even if they are yeses, we are not sure what she will do as she really sees herself at BC. She loves Bucknell and Lehigh (and Richmond) and was very grateful for their acceptances. She has visited all of them multiple times and said she wishes she could go to them all but of course she cannot! Good luck with the BC wait list…I wouldn’t be surprised if they use it this year because apps are up but there are actually less students to go around so I think the schools will have lower yields…if he still wants to go there he should definitely show some more interest and let them know. Just my opinion. My daughter had legacy at BC which I’m sure helped with the CSOM admit.
To those of you with had strong stats and didn’t get in, I am surprised. I am wondering if maybe you didn’t show enough interest? I guess maybe a little yield protection? I’m sure you will end up somewhere great anyway, but I can understand your frustration. Good luck!
received Aid package today…still with 33,000 in need and Deans scholarship…Bucknell will still be 33,000 a year…Now its time to sit and weigh all the offers and financials…and then deciding which college will be the best for this kind of investment.
We got the aid letter today. D got invited to the Presidential Fellows program, and she’s beyond thrilled. Unfortunately the aid package was less than thrilling. Very tough decisions ahead.

Waitlisted with 3.6 GPA and 2010 SAT score. I was accepted at Lehigh if that adds anything to the context.
@Minnon - My Ds scores are pretty similar to yours (a little higher). She was waitlisted at Lehigh and accepted at Bucknell. Just goes to show it’s impossible to figure out college admissions. Good luck to you wherever you choose.
I can’t seem to log onto the portal. It keeps giving me an error. Anyone else have this problem?
@Minnon and @collegemom777 thanks for sharing you stories about your inverted Lehigh/Bucknell decision results. @Collegemom777 your post “Just goes to show it’s impossible to figure out college admissions” really sums it up! I couldn’t agree more! Good luck to you both, both schools are great!
Is there anyone else who has NOT received their admission (and FA) package in the mail? We are in PA only a couple of hours from Bucknell, and assumed it would be here by today, especially since some on this thread indicated they received theirs on Saturday in NJ. Thanks.
We got ours in NJ but didn’t get our Lehigh one today and others did…I think the mail is just unpredictable. If we don’t get them tomorrow, it might be worth a phone call.
