Hey all, originally from San Francisco, but graduated early (halfway through junior year), and was invited to study music (piano) in Germany, full scholarship, where I am now. Submitted Parts I and II already; hoping for the best now. :P

All I have to do is write the essay and why columbia, and I realize how silly that sounds.

Hey. I applied ED to CC but got deferred, so… technically this is now my domain, I suppose.

hey guys! I’m applying but i have a reallyy dumb question?
im thinking that columbia doesnt take the common app ? is there a seperate application form for it?

Yes, coffeedrinker, there is a separate application that can be completed online (go to the admissions website). All the forms are different, but the essay could be easily recycled.

Hey everyone! Might as well settle in here. Sadly, I wasn’t able to go through with ED due to some family financial situations. I’ve shed my tears and cried that East River of tears. Now’s the time to woo Columbia. April, onward march right?

Any other LA-area applicants?

I am from Burkina Faso.Applied ED, was defered and is applying RD! Looks like there is not many intl students 'round here.

do i even have a chance?!?

already applied, now just waiting for my dec 2009 SAT scores. Kinda nervous at the moment :(

good luck to everyone

This may seem lame, but when you say you’ve received a letter, was it paper mail or was it an e-mail?

@shushi the actual decision letter was posted on the website once you’ve logged into your application account

it’s funny, looking back I didn’t even think about how I would react if I were deferred ED. I either imagined myself miserable or ecstatic (either being accepted or rejected)- there was no in-between. But when I saw my deferral, I smiled, thinking I still had a substantial chance, then… went on with my life in exactly the same way.

I wonder… how would you guys feel if you were waitlisted? I think I would react exactly the same way as I did when I got deferred.

Deferred from Yale EA lol so I’m applying RD!
