I'll be the first to admit I got rejected. I think it was because I didn't visit and wasn't able to get an interview. The rejection letter was pretty harsh, but I am not going to complain too much because I've gotten in almost everywhere else I applied. Congrats to all who got in!

Subjective:[ul]
[li] Essays: In my opinion, I wrote a really unique personal essay concerning my name and its cultural significance and symbolism--i.e., what it means to me, how it shaped my past, constructs my future. I talked about how I almost changed my name--pressured by western assimilation, and how realized that it would ultimately be erasing a piece of who I am. Another essay, I wrote about my first ride on a Ferris wheel in a run-down parking-lot carnival. I discussed how my views on the world and human-nature changed within that moment of glittering lights and
[/li]

echoing laughter/circus music.
[] Teacher Recs: I had several teacher/community recommendations. One from my History of Art AP teacher, and one from my AP U.S. History. They both discussed my artistic/literary contribution coupled with intellectual discussion vigor. I also got a lot of extracurricular teachers such as my Literary Magazine/Club sponsor and my French teacher to contribute a letter. My employer also wrote one--highlighting my life at home.
[] Counselor Rec: I know my Counselor extensively. She's one of my personal heros; we have long after-school discussions from time to time. I've known her since ninth grade; although, my school has many, many students, I have always made time to talk to her. Her recommendation letter was superb--at least, in my opinion. She really highlighted a lot of my personality and character attributes while mentioning my passions and motivations as well.
[li] Hook (if any): No hook really. I'm not an underrepresented minority race, nor a legacy. I do not have great test scores, just passion, I guess. Passion for the arts and all things related. I'm the first in my family to go to college.[/li][/ul]

Rejected!!!!
I didn't even get waitlisted! Oh well! I am from Oregon and I was coming to visit the schools back there from April 8-15. I think we need to change our reservations because I just got rejected from Tufts and Dartmouth today! But its okay because Boston College was my dream school anyway! I am going to come look at Boston College, Boston University, and Providence College, its either one of those or going up to Washington for college. I was just excited that Dartmouth owned their own mountain for snowboarding! Well I hope you all have fun up there!! And I hope you guys are good rhymers because Dr. Seuss went to Dartmouth so you have high expectations to live up to! Yea and I know thats not a word...that's why I didn't get in!

Any chance I got accepted by mistake? I'm probably just being ulta-paranoid but I thought I had no chance at being admitted and I have the lowest accepted SAT score of anyone who posted here. Or is that just the CC effect? Yikes, it would stink to get a letter tomorrow that their system malfunctioned and I was supposed to get rejected!

xgreenmachinex, I was waitlisted at Cornell as well... luckily I looked at the Dartmouth decision first so I didn't get too depressed beforehand haha
