accepted - although i am very, very surprised, because not only do I not even remember filling out an application, but I just checked and I didnt even submit the supplement or send ACT or SAT scores to them!!!

youwillsee1-hm…did someone else apply for you?

Even if BC’s application pool is higher, it would be interesting to see their yield. I am from the Northeast and for a lot of high caliber students, BC is considered a safety school and this is why they accept so many people. ND is more selective in their decisions and I would be shocked if their yield rate is below that of BC.

I got deferred at ND EA and is waitlisted at BC… I had similar thoughts as hawkswim09… so i’m really scared

hawkswim

You are alluding to the point I made regarding BC having to deal with cross applications with most of the ivies, which the high caliber students you reference apply to. BC is still difficult to get into, and they accept a higher number of students because they know a lot of them are qualified to go to schools that they deem more fitting to their academic and social preference. My point is, people should not look down upon BC because of it’s yeild percent or image of a safety school to ivy students, because that is not what defines a college. BC is still a great school that has to combat the large number of applicants they receive every year by accepting a few more students

I’m curious as to why you’re still posting on here after proclaiming hatred towards Notre Dame in another post eemmzz10…

Why not? I still respect the school and the students even if I don’t like it. And I’m bored. And I don’t like the misconceptions people have regarding BC. It’s a free country…

Leeeeroyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy jennnnnnnnnnnnnkinnnns!!!

Regardless, of the numbers and who accepts more than the other because it is deemed a safety school, ND still is more selective of a school. I have seen it through my high school - when ND accepts only high quality students and then BC gives acceptances to tons more who were below the people that ND accepted, ND is more selective.

Back to the waitlist…I just want to remind all of you that roughly 70% of those who apply to ND are academically “qualified.” My S was waitlisted and ultimately accepted on the second round of waitlist admissions in May. He forfeited the application fee to his second choice school and is now a Dean’s List student at ND who has absolutely thrived in the environment. If you are waitlisted and believe in yourself, then keep the faith!

accepted (:
right on the line of no financial aid so i probably wont go :\ i know its a blessing to be wealthy but it doesnt mean that it doesnt pose a burden…
if i dont go, best of luck to those that were waitlisted…im sure you’d take my spot and fill it well.

anyone in the new england area heard yet?

oh…fedex called me this morning. the letters in town! XD

Waitlisted at ND, so far denied at Northwestern and Stanford. 31 ACT, 1370/2100 SAT, 4.28 GPA, Ranked 1 of 533. I’m actually really surprised I made it this far. I think what helped was how I kept in touch with my regional rep, to be honest. I’ll be sending her more materials in the next few weeks. (newspaper articles with my name on them, awards and certificates, etc) Just to help her contextualize my achievements. It may help them understand exactly what types of activities I have been involved in.

waitlisted at ND.

Accepted to NYU Stern

Accepted to BU

Still waiting on Dartmouth.

Hey guys…I got the “small envelope” today about 12:00 p.m. in Louisiana…:-(

Very disappointed, but it is O.K., because I at least I have gotten in to some top
schools that I love, even if they aren’t Notre Dame…Also, when this process started
I prayed to God that I would get into the ones that would be the best place
for me. I am still waiting on some more schools. Good luck to everyone that is still waiting to hear or has been waitlisted!

I just got my mail today and saw the small envelope. I was waitlisted. Feeling very sad and have to start thinking seriously about my 2nd choice schools now. I had a 32 ACT… so I could tell by all the other people with great stats that it was going to be hard to get it.

Rejected. 30 ACT composite. 33 in the math section. What they fail to realize is Im going in as an Engineering major, so the math section is really the important score. But nooo they have to reject me because my composite isn’t a 33. So ridiculous.

Whatever I’ll go to Georgia Tech instead…they have a better Engineering school anyways.

Accepted!!! I honestly was not expecting it so this is incredible!!!

Top 8 % of my class, 2190 SAT. 750 and 790 SAT II. Hardest courseload possible.
