i got in as well got mine today and im in CA

When did Wake send out their letters? I live in central New Jersey, haha...

for those of you who were accepted, what were your stats?

The letter was dated the 28th and I got it the 29th, so I'm guessing they were mailed Tuesday.

Accepted yesterday! I'm not sure if i'm going there yet, but i was glad to get in!

acceptance letter big packet or regular envelope? have something here but son isnt home to open

Nothing worse than those envelopes sitting on the counter staring back at you:) My son's acceptance came yesterday in a regular envelope.....it did feel a little thick though because there was a pamphlet on open houses with the letter. Good luck waiting.

I've yet to receive my official acceptance (I don't know why), but I just received a letter from the merit aid office telling me I got the Zachary Smith scholarship worth up to $10,000 a year! I'm so excited!!! :)

Nothing in rural Texas today....sheesh. It's the last school to weigh in as he can find out tonight about one other on-line. I really wanted to put this toe-tapping mailbox stalking to rest. Usually they have the courtesty of sending something big and obvious so I don't need x-ray vision!

Thanks for the small, yet thick warning. I about had a heart attack last year with my oldest. The W & L acceptances came on one sheet in a regular envelope!

If no one has yet been rejected or waitlisted does that mean perhaps they sent out the acceptances first?

I'm in! Whew! The college waiting game is officially over for me (except for 1 waitlist). NO more anxiously sitting by the mailbox!

i got waitlisted :(

Accepted
Asian male
3.3 UW GPA
1420 SAT I
SAT II 710, 660, 630
Main EC was a job

Well done, Warblers!

I'm still holding out hope for some type of merit help - that scholarship for students from Eastern NC would be nice - but I kind of doubt it.

ugh my mail is on hold from vacation..urggg!...i got rejected from duke today and got into the elon fellows so hopefully some good wake news is on the way. congrats to all and good luck everyone. i will let you know tomo!

My son got his waitlist letter today. We live in New Jersey.

Wake got a big boost in applications due to their basketball notoriety during this past season. I assume a lot of students added Wake as a back-up and that a fair number of those on the waiting list will get in. Wake is probably everyone's favorite backup. Must be a nightmare for Wake's admissions office to figure out how many acceptances to send in order to hit their yield number.

^ bondnj0 I'm afraid that is what will happen to my son as well. It's a pet peeve of mine. They encourage kids to apply to some schools where they are above average in stats, and that accept a greater proportion of their applicants. Then the schools get all snooty about it. But really, who wants to walk the admissions tight rope without a safety net? If admissions were not such a freakish lottery, then kids would apply to fewer schools. If you only apply to your dream school, you could very well end up at home next year.

I am glad that my son already has some good places in the bag, but he was interested in Wake debate and wrote a bunch of their essays. The least they could do is keep up with his application and send some sort of notification. :( We have found Wake to be the most disorganized and least "friendly" in this process.

yea i also received a wake waitlist letter. i am sadly not surprised bc this occured with my sister only 4 years ago. Even though she was accepted and presently attends, i agree they are the least "friendly" in this process. i do love the school, but i find it amazing how many people i have crossed paths with who presently attend the school and were waitlisted in the past. i am probably going to stay on the waitlist altho i received the elon business fellows award and am very excited about that. i wish both of your sons the best of luck and i am sure everything will work out in the end.

Congrats on your Elon award! Hope your waitlisting works out the way you want it to.

No mail yet today, but son is so turned off he told us we could open it even though he'll be away this weekend.

thats sad
its not that bad
