I screwed up my Penn interview like...badly. I still feel bad about it, and it was last week....:(

this lady had a list of questions written out.
1. why Penn? (when she asked that, I was like..ok...this won't be too bad but then...)
2. where do you see yourself in 10 years?
3. what is the difference between goals and dreams? (i gave the uhh...wrong answer apparently. i didn't know there were right and wrong answers)
4. what do you want to get out of college? (ok..taht's not that bad)
5. what do you want on your epitaph? (I literally said "I don't know" on this. ugggh)
6. What do you do for fun? (she gave me like 10 seconds to answer...because her time was "running out" or something)

and...she didn't even let me ask my own questions! :(

Hmm, is it bad that we still havent gotten contacted for an interview? Is there something i should do -contact someone maybe- to tell that i havent gotten an interview yet?

when do they stop conducting interviews? I haven't gotten any phone calls yet...and I didnt receive the postcard that says they have everything either...

i had a dream a week ago that i was at penn and the office of admissions person at duke (which i didnt apply to) said that they wanted me at duke and said i was automatically accepted...so i accept it and then get rejected from penn...

Well, the interview is "considered" which means that it's evaluative at least somewhat. I think it's something that can give you an edge to get in, but won't keep you out (unless you really do or say something stupid).

I have a question, too. I understand that not everyone gets an interview, but does that pertain to people who may not have a alumni in their local communiity, or is it completely random? Cause I know people who applied to Northwester, Harvard and stuff....they all received interviews. But for UPenn...I think I am the only person offered an interview..I talked to two other people who also applied to Penn and they said they didn't any notification about interviews whatsoever. Does anyone know how that works? Should I take this maybe as a good news since it could mean that they're actually considering me, or take this as it was completely random and I just got lucky? Or maybe it's bad news and I'm like super borderline or something..><

I've heard it's random and that only half get interviews. Don't know if that's mostly in areas with no alums. My guess is no, because not all the ED people got them, and some of them were in areas with lots of alum. Usually you would call the interviewer back after they contact you by email or phone. Bottom line is lots of people get in without one, since they don't have enough interviewers for everyone.
