@aliciaanali- maybe that was just your interviewer and maybe that is partially true (after all the applicants in major cities still probably equals to the hundreds) but I think its mainly to get to know you as a person since the alumni interviewer can be different- for example mine just graduated

@fjkhsa I definitely agree. I’m sure that the interviewers report back to Emory though.

@aliciaannali

If you’re worried about recognition, Emory is a much more prestigious school then Penn State. The people who actually matter, the people who hire, will recognize the name.

So historically, Emory has released decisions a few days before April 1st??

So when do we think they’ll announce the date for “Decision Day”?

I note that the admissions office is closed on March 28th…is that a sign?

pretty sure it’s April 1st

I keep checking the admission blog to see when they’ll release decisions, but so far nothing has been posted

Actually, the fact that they are closed on March 28th makes me think that’s the date. The office is Open on April 1. I would think they’d want a day to make sure Opus is up and ready to go, and decisions going out the door without tours, etc.

the admissions officer notified me that the decisions will be out by April 1st.
i would assume maybe next week

Super nervous guys! I’ve had such a hectic/awful senior year (got deferred from my ED1 school, rejected from my ED2 school, and now Emory is my top/last hope). Best of luck to everyone. Hoping for the 28th! crosses fingers

@peke85 I am so sorry to hear that! I hope you and I both (and everyone else) gets into Emory! I am so anxious for these decisions to come out!

Are decisions mailed or posted on OPUS?

@thecreator96 I believe it is on OPUS

My S just received an email from Emory congratulating him on his admittance to Emory! It was sent in order to invite him to a Multicultural type weekend. They said he is admitted but that the official decision letter will be on OPUS on March 27th at 6 PM and financial aid information would be available 24 hour later.

I just received an early notification of my admission decision! I got in! They told me early so I could make arrangements to go to Essence of Emory, a Hispanic or Latino or African American event over April 10-12. They said official decisions will be posted on OPUS this Thursday at 6 PM ET!

@mk14225: I recommend going. it was pretty fun. April is just a fun (though somewhat stressful as finals loom) time of the year and if you come and you are, say, concerned or dissatisfied with your financial aid package, it’s an optimal oppurtunity to talk to someone in fin. aid.

Congratulations to the both of you, jr and mk on the admissions success!

OMG! I just found out I got into Emory! I literally almost died in the middle of my Spanish class! Congrats to everyone who got it!

Do you two know if that is true for all RD candidates, or just those invited to the Essence of Emory? The admissions Twitter page just posted that decisions will be available by April 1st…

@holmesfan13 for everyone it will be available on Thursday March 27 at 6 PM ET on OPUS. This was only for those who qualify for Essence of Emory

Twitter says RD Thursday 6 pm ET. Essence of Emory kids getting their admissions early.
