accepted at oxford! rejected at emory but I’m not too beaten up about it :)

Congrats to all those accepted!!!

D waitlisted, top 1%, 4.0uw 6.1w, 33 ACT, decent essay and EC’s, 12 AP’s.

accepted! 2110 SAT, 3.85-ish UW (95.98 weighted average), solid ECs, great essays (the “create a course” essay was one of my best application essays.)

so psyched! emory is my top choice.

D waitlisted… 3.7 UW, 4.0 W, 32 ACT, solid ECs, great essays, and a DOUBLE legacy.

:(
I’m sorry.

accpeted! at both oxford and emory! on top of cornell and berkeley it’s so nice to get some lovely decisions today

Waitlisted at Oxford, and rejected at emory with 1720 SAT, 3.5 WGPA. Does Oxford tell the waitlisted applicants if they have been accepted, before may? And is Oxford a bad school, which people look down upon?

S got in…with a 35 ACT, NMF, and a 4.0 UW (at the time of application), top 10%. Unfortunately, won’t be attending unless they offer up some incredible $$ (which is doubtful, since he didn’t get invited to Scholars weekend). Hopefully that will open up a spot for someone on the waitlist…

can any1 please post a picture of their admission letter? Black out the name or whatever. I just want to see what a precious acceptance looks like

please can some1 post?

Also, does it say how many applications there were for the class as a whole?

@actstudent: No one will probably do that and about 17.3k applied (maybe a little more).

I don’t need a picture but what does the text say?

@lakshay35 Oxford is a great school, just with a different fit in mind then main campus of Emory. So Oxford College is a much smaller school then the College of Arts and Sciences, and because of this it fosters a much closer atmosphere between students. Because Oxford is only a two year school, going into you second year you are the SENIORS on campus, so you get a very leadership heavy experience (if that is what your looking for). I definitely wouldn’t say it is a worse school then Emory College, just different. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a smaller liberal arts environment for two years before you move on to main campus (yes oxford students move on to the College of Arts and Sciences after two years).

for any1 accepted, does ur admissions say how many people applied and how many admitted?

@theatregeek234, If i get accepted, i will apply to Emory. Does every graduate of Goizueta get the same degree regardless of which college they attended? And do employers prefer emory college students?

So the process for a student who starts at Oxford College is that you begin on Emory’s Oxford Campus. After 1.5 - 2 years your AUTOMATICALLY move from Oxford College to Emory College of Arts and Sciences. At this point you would have a choice to either stay in the “College” or apply to the Business School (Goizueta). If you apply to the Business School and are accepted, then you would no longer be a student in Emory’s College of Arts and Sciences, and instead you would be a student in Emory’s Goizueta Business School working towards earning a BBA (Bachelors of Business Administration) from Goizueta’s Business School. If you choose to stay in the college at that point you will be working towards a BA or BS from Emory College of Arts and Sciences. @lakshay35

So the campuses of goizueta and emory college are different? @theatregeek234
