Official Regular Decision Thread!

I don’t believe there is one in the American University thread?

Anyway, they begin releasing decisions next week, right? Who’s applied? I’m so nervous for next week! AU is my second choice (with Northeastern at the top of my list). I visited a few weeks ago and I fell in love with DC and AU’s campus! So, I’m definitely crossing my fingers for an acceptance letter.

It’s weird. It feels like just yesterday I was taking my ACTs and filling out the CommonApp. Time flies! The waiting period is almost over, guys!

I haven’t heard any news with regard to when decisions are being sent out, but my friends don’t generally discuss college (it’s awkward because we’re applying to all of the same schools hahah). From whom did you hear about decisions being released next week? I hope you’re right! Did AU release decisions that early last year? Ahhh! Not going to lie, AU is pretty low on my list of schools, but I am still terribly anxious. I did not apply anywhere ED or EA, so the fact that I have yet to be accepted anywhere is a bit nerve wracking.

Best of luck to all else applying! AU is a fantastic school.

On the CSS thing it says they’re going to START sending out decisions on March 15, but people asked admissions on the chat thing and they said that we will have to wait for the decisions to come in the mail, so it will probably take longer to find out.

I’m so excited/nervous for decisions! Good luck to everyone applying :)

Based on last year’s thread, kids started hearing back on March 10th (!!!) and they almost all got some kind of merit aid. The others seemed to come closer to the 20th.

THEY’RE STARTING TO MAIL THE LETTERS!!! I follow the AU admissions office on twitter hahahah.

Will our status get updated online?

I don’t think they will be updated online. I checked the website about an hour ago and there was no way to check your decision there.

@aanolos: congrats!!

In 2008 all the decisions were on-line with the letter arriving afterwards. This is so different!

Last year, they came in the mail. And wierdly, scholarship info came later – after April 15th. Not in the same packet.

I can’t get on the american U website… is that a sign?

same here mspears8! I think the site’s just down though, probably because of all of the activity. ughhhh I just want to know!

wait whatttt?

AU has an online status thing? why was i never made aware of this? how do i get my log in? I hope we find out soon!!

Well I don’t know if they’re posting the decisions online, but yeah they have a status check where you can check if all of your documents are in.

I finally got onto my American U portal and there’s no admission decision so don’t stress!

same here mspears, didnt see a thing

I just listened to a voicemail from AU. Although the person on the phone didn’t explicitly say that I was accepted, she did say that I should be expecting good news in the mail and that she hopes that I’m able to attend the admitted students’ day. So, I guess I can allow myself to be happy. Woot woot!

Hey everyone I applied ED and got into the honors program! I just wanted to say good luck to everyone and that many of my friends who applied Regular received their admission letters today (I’m from MD)!!! Good Luck Everyone and hope to see you guys soon!
