Can anyone post their stats please?

dude, dont compare yourself to other people. just believe in yourself

I'm not comparing with you guys. I am only a Junior. I just wanna know how well do the accepted students are and I will evaluate myself. If I'm not in the range, I will not waste money and time to apply to it or even look at it.

you see..thats why i wont tell people my stats. because it leads to that respose. "i dont have a chance" universitites want far more than numbers

Sergio1337: I don't understand what do you mean? What more than numbers?

well man, rice isnt about just your sat or ur sat2. they want well rounded people. if you are booksmart....and no ec's you wont get in. things balance out the other. i meant that u shouldnt be discouraged by low stardadized test scores because they look at other things

Sergio, I think this is a moment to remember. You believe getting into Rice is more than just numbers! :P Just kidding. I'm sure you could do a search of any of the current Rice/Baylor students, hoganwan. I agree with this idea: numbers can get you to a certain point, but you still need the well-rounded profile and a lot of luck in some instances to get into a college or program. Good luck next year!

sigh~ My EC doesn't look good too......
So, hopeless... I want to get some volunteer work, or other somewhat honor society too.

well i believe in building up numbers but i know thats not the only thing. i dont dismiss the stats though. the higher you can get, the better

i live in the houston area, so i'm really interested in this program. did you guys who got into rice/baylor take any special classes at your high school like pharmacology, medical terminology, etc. I'm wondering if I should take these classes at my school to show that I'm really interested in medicine, however, they will hurt my gpa since they are considered regular level courses (I wonder why?) And also, I'm going to be taking AP Calc BC as a sophomore, but my school doesn't have any courses beyond calc bc. how do i take courses like diff equations at a university as i have no transportation to take me there during school hours. i appreciate any advice.

My high school never had any specialty/medicine-realted classes, and our GPA's were unweighted, so my situation was very different from yours - however, if there are many ways to express your interest in medicine. Some of them include: volunteering (obviously) at a hospital/nursing home/clinic, interning at a medical center, becoming involved in biomedical research, being an Emergency Medical Technician, participating in health-related volunteer work abroad, etc.

These hands-on experiences might turn out to be a lot better evidence that you are interested in medicine, versus simply taking courses. Or, you could do both!

Just my thoughts on that.

Also, for those looking for the stats of Rice/Baylor students, I know many have posted their stats on this board before, so you can look up their old posts and try to find them. You can get a lot of their usernames from this very thread (just go back a couple of pages) - we talked about getting in and everything back in April/May.

sorry, my mischievous brother typed that last part in while I was having breakfast.

Could somebody tell me what teh SAT answers are?

Could somebody tell me what the answers to the SAT test are

sorry, that was my brother again, no joke! don't reply to the last 2 posts!!

cooljoe: wow, you have taken AP Cal BC in your sophomore? That is amazing.

i volunteer to try to get into r/b

wow thats pretty impressive cooljoe. I only know of one other person who did that and she is a junior taking multivariable calc now. She's a genius tho cause she skipped 2 grades in school and she skipped 4 in math. She got a 240 on the psats.
