Good god. My essays must have actually done something. But even that wasn’t enough to dig me out of the hole TT . Still… I can’t help but feel a little happy that I wasn’t rejected right away! Really! I’m thrilled  . Rice is my top choice and I knew that my chances would be super slim! Fingers crossed for whatever happens next TT.

Congrats to those of you who were accepted! There are plenty of us who wish they were you! And to everyone else, cheer up buttercups  !! You all sound awesome and it sounds like you guys are going to be going to great places  !

Yessss accepted. Check profile for stats.

One question to all who are in the loop. What is the situation with housing? Do we live on campus? Are there off campus housing that is specifically designated for students?

Also to those who received financial aid decision: did you submit your ccs profile and idoc prior or simply the fafsa? How generous are they with meeting your demonstrated need?

I did fafsa first.
For me the aid is fantastic; it beats my current aid at a small liberal arts college.

You should do all three asap though, esp bc finaid packages are coming out!

accepted as incoming sophmore

APs: World History (4), English (4), Psych (5), MacroEcon (5), Calc BC (5)

SAT: 2120

No on-campus housing is guaranteed for transfers. Financial aid was phenomenal for me (you can check it on ESTHER).

Good news for those wait listed! I will most likely be declining my admission due to the fact that on-campus housing is not available.

Rejected this morning.

3.62 GPA from Emory; went for 3 semesters and took a medical leave at the beginning of the 4th. I was on the Dean’s List my last full semester (3.86).
3.75 H.S. GPA, 23/297, from South Carolina.
32 ACT (34 E, 34 M, 35 R, 28 Sci, - 10 essay)

Ecs: Published writer in multiple literary magazines and newspapers, accomplished actor in over 15 shows and tech/design/crew in over 7.
Autodidactic polyglot- Spanish, French, Italian, German.
Healing minister.
Independent student, recovering alcoholic (that might’ve sunk me, but I did include letters from my counselors attesting to my readiness to return to school)

How do I feel? I was sad about it this morning, but now that I think about it, I didn’t put in the effort in my essays, Rice definitely wasn’t my first choice, and I applied on a whim. So congratulations to those who got in! I’m sincerely happy for you.

Waiting for decisions from Swarthmore, Amherst, Yale, and Carleton in the coming weeks.

My aid package is great.

As for as on-campus housing goes, I was under the impression that, while not guaranteed, if requested, it was probable. Has anyone heard anything else?

Hey @liquid colors

I was wondering if you submitted the ccs profile and idoc packet in addition to fafsa when you received your aid packet?

Or did you receive a packet solely based on the fafsa info?
