Accepted!

But so much indecision. I’m at the University of Washington (Seattle) and i want to study computer science. UW has a top 10 CS program but I like the Rice atmosphere a lot better.

hmm…

Accepted!

Now if I can only convince my parents…

Same. What up.

What is the timing for those that have been waitlisted? Is it May 15th? Please advise.

@mxjeff: call the admissions office, Rice should tell you exactly where you are on the waitlist

@dfa4ever: Thank you.

@mxjeff: welcome and I hope you get off the waitlist =)

I got in!! But I don’t know whether I really want to go. I wanna do mechanical engineering. Does anyone know alot about MechE at Rice? Please help me out.
I’m a sophomore at Univ. of Rochester. Our MechE program is mediocre. But I want to know if it’s worth transferring to Rice for MechE.

i don’t think i’m going to go to Rice next year, so one of you waitlisters can have my spot :)

Your rejection is appreciated by this humble waitlistee

how come nobody’s rejected?!?!?!

Rejected students tend not to post. Also, in general I haven’t seen too much Rice transfer discussion on CC. My guess is that there aren’t many students who applied compared to peer schools, and that among those who did apply, few post on CC. I think you can find a couple of rejections on the Rice thread on the transfer forum.

I just rejected my offer today. Good luck to those on the waitlist!

Thanks! I sent them a kick-ass letter and now I’m just hoping for good news on Tuesday

I just sent in a letter as well, Im keeping my fingers crossed! I talked to a Rice counselor a couple of days ago who told me the earliest we can expect to hear something is Thursday the 13th. Good luck other waitlisters!

Yesterday I called rice asking about the transfer waiting list and they told me that historically they have been able to count with one hand the number of people accepted out of the waitlist. Not very encouraging info!

hey guys I went to HCC and finished 64 credit hrs already. I got into NYU but i didn’t like it so I took a semester off. I decided to apply to rice again this fall 2011. Anyone has any advice please holler… I am very anxious and freaked out because I don’t think I can get in…Please give me advice :(((

So… I’m currently a freshman at Meredith College in North Carolina and would love to know how to get accepted as a transfer to Rice University I’m aware of the fact that there isn’t a definite path, but would love it if previously accepted transfer students replied and told me a bit of their stats.

Thanks so much!

Does anyone know how many credits you have to have to transfer? Can I apply to transfer as a second semester freshmen?
