The last day of notification for fall 2011 transfer has ended so as a spring 2012 transfer prospect, I feel the need to start a thread. :)
Please post college GPA, number of credits, high school stats, EC, Current University/College, and others.

LOL anyone applying?

Actually, the candidate reply deadline was May 1st and that doesn’t apply to anyone whose application was not reviewed by then (they are given a two week window from the date of acceptance).

I applied on April 17th and was told by admissions that the CAS had not filled up and that my chance of admission was equal to what it would have been had I applied several months ago.

Rutgers uses rolling admissions for all three of its campuses, and while there is a priority application deadline, there is no closing date.

…In other words, you still could have/still can apply for Fall 2011.

That said, I had a 3.5 and an A.S. from a NJ CC and fully expect to get in; I was admitted straight out of high school with very lackluster stats.

I will be applying for the spring.

Applying as: Transfer from NJ Community College
Associates Degree: A.S. in Math & Science - Computer Science(60 something credits)
Major GPA: 3.0, overall GPA a little lower i have C where the class didn’t count so like a 2.93.
Few screw ups along the way(2 D that i retook).

I know the 2D will hurt me but i hope they’ll take into consideration i used to work 25-30 hours a week.

I guess I started this thread too early LOL

Bump, lol:)

When is the application due for Spring 2012? I checked on the website but it doesn’t say…

It was October 1 last year. It should be the same for 2012.

Is it easier to get in during the spring or fall? My gpa currently isn’t so great due to past personal issues… but I can easily raise it this fall

Also, why isn’t the application up yet!

The application for spring and fall 2012 should be up soon. How many credits NOT including fall 2011 do you have tng1992

30 credits. But my GPA is not good due to some personal issues that I can easily explain to them. I *ed up. But I know after fall 2011 it’ll be at least 3.3. I’m thinking I should just apply after the fall and apply for fall 2012. My chances of getting in during the spring probably aren’t great I’ll have 60 credits by the spring but I won’t be getting an associates lol. BCC *ed me over with the misleading info and now I have to stay another semester… which is why I want to transfer without my associates.

I think it would be better for you to apply for the fall 2012 admission. With a 3.3 you will have a very good chance of getting into SAS NB. I am not saying that it is impossible for you to gain admission for spring 2012 but they won’t see your fall 2011grades at the time of your application.

Yeah I decided that today. Then after the spring my gpa will be even better haha thanks for the advice :)

Wait…bottlecap is wrong…they don’t make the decision until they receive your fall 2011 grades…i talked to someone from the admission board yesterday! Apply and see what happens! You never know!

atvman I believe that is only for fall transfers. Spring decisions are given out in December befire the fall semester is over.

Anyone know how rough or hard it is to get into Rutgers?

I’ll be applying for fall 2012 and will (hopefully, I wont be applying if I dont) boost my GPA from the current 2.3 to the 2.9. I’ve gotten straight As for the past 18 credits and taking 18 more next semester. IF I get the straight As again I’ll have the 2.9. Basically I’m wondering even with a 2.9 will they view a trend of 36 credits worth of As as a sharp enough increase.

My HS stats were:

3.4 GPA
ACT: 28

thanks for any advice you can give!

I think you’ll have a shot if you can continue your upward trend.

Hey everyone, I’m from out-of-state, but have taken 11 credits at an NJ community college here. I just took a math final today and blew it, so here are my projected stats.
cumulative GPA: 3.6 (NJ: 3.2)
credits: 39-41 (NJ: 11)
no extracurriculars, only had a part-time job for half a year
not getting an associate’s
I’m trying to get into SAS. What are my chances? I feel like that 3.2 GPA is working against me.

oh and my high school GPA was a 3.4, but they’re not gonna look at that, are they?

I think you will still have a good chance. It would be a little harder to get in as an OOS student but I think you will be fine. Do you go to brookdale? lol.

HS stats won’t matter.
