OFFICIAL Rutgers SPRING 2012 Transfer

Ah ok, well I guess what I also want to ask was how long was it between sending your stuff and them getting it? And do they have a certain priority with some people over others when it comes to them looking at everything?
The reason I ask is I applied last year as a spring transfer and they took weeks to get back to me.

I also wanted to ask to everyone thats applied (and preferably those of you who have been accepted) what kind of extracurriculars (jobs included) did you guys have?
I do cross country, fencing club and am currently in the process of becoming a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters. My class schedule is so whack that I haven’t been able to get a job, and I’m afraid that may reflect negatively.

it’ll probably take 1-2 weeks for them to post up what you have sent. What matters most is grades in my opinion. My brother had zero extracurricular activities besides working at a supermarket and still got into RBS in NB. I had a few jobs and some ec back in HS.

Thanks for your input, I’d also like to hear from the rest of you guys.

I’m taking 7 classes this semester so im studying hard, keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best!

what is your cumulative GPA right now?

Not so great, around a 2.5 due to very poor grades my first semester last year. I picked up the pace and eventually got B’s. I also got an A during a summer course (not included in my GPA), and I’m aiming for A’s this semester as well. I do fall in that range right now, so I’m hoping to keep up the hard work for the next 2 months. Even if I allow one B, my GPA will be around a 3.09. I also have AP and other college credits from high school, if that helps.

Additionally (If time permits of course), I have winter courses I will be taking and submitting to them as well.

To be honest, you might NOT hear anything until u submit your fall grades. 2.5 is not gonna get you in.

Yeah, so I’m staying hopeful about that. My advisor told me I would have my grades sent to them by the middle of January at the latest, so it’s still at a comfortable time before the deadline. I will probably submit my app in december or early january though.

ok so here’s my question. I applied almost a month ago and still haven’t heard anything back… i don’t have a college transcript yet because we haven’t even finished midterms (first semester freshman). have I not heard anything because they don’t have any college grades from me? it doesn’t say under items received that I’m missing anything. I sent my hs transcript and act scores. usually if you’re missing something, there’ll be a section that indicates that. so, what should I do? I’m going NUTS waiting

It’s killing me, i wanna hear back

It’s nice to know there are people in the same boat as me haha

im dying to get into rutger new brunswick sas for spring 2012! im a first semester freshman with 18 credits that can be transferred to rutgers/
im currently at a small college in PA but i live in NJ.
my stats:
High School GPA: 2.9
SAT Writing: 600
SAT Reading; 510
SAT Math: 470
College GPA: 3.6

what are my chances?! i really really want to get in there because i absolutely hate it here.
when did people find out before if they got accepted or not?

@aripower

they’re probably evaluating you in a separate pool for freshman, which is why it’s taking longer. as long as you have good HS stats, don’t worry about it.

@cjam93

sorry to be honest, but assuming that you have completed less than 12 credits at the time of application, i really doubt you have a good chance of getting in. why not wait a semester or two? they don’t look at HS stats once you have 24 credits done.

@cjam93

I agree with shawty, it wouldn’t hurt to wait another semester or two. I was in your position last year, and I didn’t get in since the admission for the few spaces they have is very competitive. I had higher stats than yours (not trying to put you down) but I also knew people with all kinds of stats getting accepted or denied.

Your SATs are hurting you, but overall it’s a gamble really. Even if you don’t get in this semester, you can switch your application to consideration for the fall without having to start all over again or pay the fee. If you have a strong showing this semester, you will be able to send your transcripts to them on time for the fall transfer deadline.

Good luck!

hey i’m a student at brookdale cc… this is my second year and ill graduated in may … My GPA is 3.33 … My first year I had a 4.0 GPA…, I took classes over the summer (bad Idea) and it droped to 3.33… I failed a math class … I’m now taking that same math class again and believe or not I’m expecting an A in that class … Hopefully after this semenster my GPA will be around 3.43-3.53 … What are my chances to SAS(number 1)? business school nb (number 2)? … I know failing a class will hurt me but will it cancel it out now that I’ll get an A this semenster … and should i apply after this semenster?

@Deadkennedys1551

someone mentioned on here that the Business School NB doesn’t do spring admissions. i’d also like to point out that fall grades aren’t included the first time they review your application. i don’t know how big of a deal failing a class is to them, but other than that, 3.3 should be good enough to get you in.

i’m applying for the fall… so i’m going to apply in december after my grades are in for this semenster… is that a good idea?

thank you so much!
i know its a gamble, considering i didnt do well in high school and im terrible at large tests, but i just really hate it here, so maybe they’ll take the chance and accept me! i already sent my transcripts(college) and the admissions told me to send them again at the end of the semester so that they fully know my potential.
good luck to everyone else :)

Enrollment pathway open already jeez! :’( I’m so impatient!

i got accepted to Camden but Newark and NB are still “in process”. Is it a good sign that i got accepted to Camden? What are the chances of getting accepted into Newark as well… and NB? I’m applying to arts and & science for computer science.
