bottlecap,

i see you’ve posted a lot in the fall transfer thread. is this is your second time applying?

Yes. I applied once from high school and got rejected. My stats in HS were 3.2 GPA and 1010 math/cr. I had to go to a community college lol.

hey guys i had a question about my chances of getting into rutgers SAS-NB for Spring 2012.

I spent one year at NJIT for engineering in Fall 2009- Spring 2010 and did horrible- finished with a 1.7 gpa. I had a lot of family problems going on which affected my studies and forced me to miss the Fall semester of school. I then went to Morris CC for business administration for spring 2011 and did 2 summer course’s, and got pretty much all A’s and a B. I’m still enrolled there for fall classes. but with these stats what do you think my chances are-

H.S- 3.1 gpa with 1020 SAT (math/eng)
NJIT- 20 credits with a 1.7 gpa
Morris CC- 21 credits- 3.86 gpa

I know I screwed up bad at NJIT, but since then I dealt with all my family problems, switched majors, and have improved my grades drastically. You think I have a shot at getting in for spring 2012, or do you think I need another good semester at CC and apply in Fall 2012. Appreciate any help

Larry, you could apply and see what happens. However I think spending at least another semester at CC would be a good idea.

yea thats probably what ill end up doing. thanks for the input. You think another semester of all A’s at CC will be enough even with that horrible first year?

That horrible 1st year will still haunt you but a few more semesters of all A’s will show a good upward trend. Good thing you only took 20 credits at NJIT :)

How often does Rutgers accept first year transfer students who only finished one semester of uni?

If you have good HS stats + SAT scores then you have a chance. Keep in mind that most transfer students have 30-60 college credits.

I have over a 3.3 gpa right now and im applying for the spring semester right now with 47 credits, but Im taking 20 credits this fall so I will graduate, with a higher gpa. What are my chances for getting into rutgers New Brunswick, Im applying to be a econ major. Also I have great extracurricular’s and I work 40 hrs a week.

I’m gonna say you are in Jess. U go to ocean county?

Yea i go to occ

another question- if i apply for Fall 2012 i know the deadline is February something, will my spring 2012 grades be considered.

It says this from the RBSNB…

Students Transferring from Schools Outside of Rutgers University
Students from other colleges or universities outside of Rutgers University who are interested in transferring to the Rutgers Business School-New Brunswick may apply to transfer directly into the RBSNB for fall 2011 online at the Undergraduate Admissions website admission.rutgers.edu until February 1, 2011. RBSNB does not accept transfer students for the spring semester. Summer 2011 coursework will NOT be included in the review.

I currently attend a community college and plan to finish up fall 2012. Does this mean I have to wait a whole year to apply to RBSNB? Can I apply for spring semesters? I was planning to apply for spring 2012 semester.

You won’t be able to transfer directly into RBSNB for spring 2012. As the website stated, you can only apply for fall admission. Will you be finished with all of the prerequisites(micro/macro econ, business stats, calculus, financial accounting, etc) this fall?

My brother was recently admitted into the RBSNB from brookdale. He starts tomorrow.

Well I currently attend CC part time and I calculated that I would be finished at THE END of FALL 2012 which totally sucks because that means I would have to wait a whole year?! I started CC Fall 2010 and I also work so I cannot take as many classes.

Maybe I will just go to Kean instead. By the way I am trying to get a liberal arts business degree and then transfer to junior status at a 4 year uni for the accounting major. There is this law where if you earn an 2 year degree at CC you can start with junior status as long as you meet the requirements.

Can you take some classes in the summer? This is just my opinion but I don’t think Kean is anywhere near Rutgers in terms of quality.

APPLICATION JUST OPENED UP! Hurry up and APPLY PEOPLE!! lol.

Can you apply for the 2012 spring and fall at the same time?

haha yea i just pretty much finished everything about an hour or 2 ago… and is it true that if you don’t get in for spring, it is free to apply for the fall?

Not sure about that BallPlayer92. But I think that only applies when you defer your admission.
