Hey, I was wondering my chances of acceptance. I am currently in my first semester (Fall 2011) of my freshman year in college. I am applying to Rutgers for spring 2012 and graduated with a 3.5 GPA. I played varsity volleyball all 4 years of high school, was Vice President of my Intercultural Club, volunteered at a therapeutic riding place, got the Pheonix Award from my high school (which is basically most improved academically), was a Filipiniana Awardee, and got the President’s Bronze Medal (for volunteering for over 100 hours in one school year). I will be taking 16 credits this semester and I’m a Biochemistry major. I am applying to Rutgers NB Arts and Sciences for Biochemistry. I was wait listed last year and eventually denied. I really hope I’ll get in next semester, cause if not I’ll be devastated. But I’ll still apply again for Fall 2012 if I do get denied. Thank you to whoever replies.

Ohh, and my SAT scores were 1540 in all: 600 Math, 490 Reading, 450 Writing. I also got a 23 on my ACTs: 23 English, 26 Math, 21 Reading, 23 Science, 21 Combined English/Writing, and my writing score was an 8.

Hey all I’d appreciate some advice, I currently have a 3.3 with 27 credits at RVCC. Honestly, I’m really sick of being in a CC and want to apply to Rutgers. I was originally planning to apply during the fall and attempt to bring my gpa up before I apply in Jan, but I’ve been feeling increasingly desperate. Unfortunately I don’t have any extra curriculars which i think hurts me a lot. But I think I have a decent reason for that and have put it into the app. I also have a ton of work hours/experience so hopefully that helps? So should I try for spring or just wait it out till fall? My end goal is applying to the business school which I won’t be able to do this fall anyway so in the end it really doesn’t matter too much.

@Mismo, are the 27 credits including the classes you are taking this fall? if NOT then you should go ahead and apply for spring 2012. Your GPA is decent.

@Saruto.
how many credits do you have in the 4.0 and 1.8 GPA

I don’t think its normal. I am having the same problem also except they are saying they haven’t received my HS transcript(which I sent 2 weeks ago). I actually sent in my HS transcript before I sent in my college transcript(which I sent 1.5 weeks ago) but they have only received my college transcript. I would go and send it again. That’s what I am going to do as well.

does anyone know if it is ok to fax our HS transcript? I can’t believe that they already received my college transcript but not my HS transcript. I went back to my HS today and they even had a receipt for mailing out my transcript on the 6th of september. They told me to call rutgers and ask if I could just fax my HS transcript so I called. The admission lady told me that I could fax it and she gave me a fax number so I told my high school guidance people to fax it and they did.

Then my friend called again and asked the same question but another admission person told him that we can fax the HS script for now but they are going to need an official copy eventually. What the hell does this mean?

Official pretty much means straight from the printer of your high school into an envelope and mailed with out tampering. That way you can’t change anything and it isn’t fake.

hey, I just submitted my app yesterday, I’m a freshman and graduated with cumulative ~3.9 gpa, 27 on ACTS, intended biochem major, and some awards and extracurrics. even though I haven’t finished my semester yet (taking 18 creds this semester), will they still be willing to accept me? or will I have to wait until I take my finals?
