i don’t know of any applicants who were deferred. if you’re not directly accepted, you’re either waitlisted or denied. also, SAS has its own admission process, so yeah, you should have applied there just in case. that’s what i’ve been telling my brother who’s applying for SoE fall 2012.

oh dear…okay …yeah i should have applied to SAS as a backup…now I’ll just have to wait and see :/

i sent an email to admissions asking if they could add SAS as one of my school choices on my application and they did!! i just have to wait 24 hrs for it to appear on my rutgers status screen…so if i can get into directly into soe, that would be so awesome but if not then i can complete the pre-requisites in SAS and then transfer into soe??

Yep, school-to-school transfer

If your GPA is below 3.0 and you have less than 30 credits, it’s a toss up for SAS and a very slim chance for engineering.

Three friends of mine applied to SAS for spring 2012 with sub 3.0 GPA and all of them were rejected. 2 of them applied late with 30+credits and the other applied early.

All of them had mediocre HS stats and SAT scores as well.

I meant to say 2 of them applied for fall 2011 and the one who applied early applied for spring 2012.

Accepted! Nwk Business School!

Hey bottlecap, you said that a 3.0 (or less) with fewer than 30 credits was a toss up, but what about more credits with a 3.0? I mean, It might sound bad, but my situation is: all c’s my first semester of freshman year then slowly moved up to B’s and A’s (Which I’m hoping to keep up for this semester). Would my improvement despite a relatively low GPA help me in any way? (Applying for SAS fall '12). If you or anyone has knowledge on this I’d greatly appreciate it.
Also I sent in half my stuff for spring '12 before deciding to switch to Fall, good move?

An upward trend is always good. I am positive you can get into SAS with a 2.8-2.9 or above with more than 30 credits as well as an upward trend.

Does Rutgers HAVE to receive high school transcripts before making a decision?

Yes. HS transcript is one of the admission requirements

I know that’s common sense, and that’s EXACTLY why I asked. Cornell hasn’t received my hs transcript yet - I sent the form to my hs for both Rutgers and Cornell on the same day. I didn’t even see Rutgers say they received it (as recently as the day before I was accepted). I’m just trying to figure out if Cornell hasn’t processed it yet or didn’t get it.

hmm enrollment pathway still isnt unlocked

Hey! I’m applying to SAS New Brunswick for Spring 2012 as a sophomore.
I have a 3.125 cumulative GPA from a small liberal arts college with a good reputation.
My GPA from last semester was a 3.33.
First semester freshman year I struggled with and ultimately got a C in statistical analysis which really effected my GPA.
I’m involved with best buddies, BSA, an after school program for inner city kids,
and i’m an intern at the multicultural center.

I sent my SAT scores even though we didn’t have to.
2060 overall: M: 600 W: 750 CR: 710.
SAT Subject test in math: 630.

I will have completed 39 credits.

Does anybody know what my chances are?

I’m also a pretty good writer and I submitted an essay so I’m hoping that will help.

PS. does anybody know about housing for transfers? RU seems pretty vague about it on the site.

I have a couple questions. I am a transfer frosh with 3.0 HS gpa and 1550 SAT’s. 570Math and 520Reading. I would transfer with 14-15 credits. I would be instate.

Do I have any chance? (applying to SAS)

How long does it take to hear back?

On the website it says they received my HS transcripts, App Fee, and SAT’s. Is that all they require? (I sent college transcripts a week and a half ago but never heard anything back about that)

you are in spacedeto

Hello everyone! I recently applied to Rutgers NB SAS for the spring and I was wondering if I had a fair shot. I have about 70 credits all taken at the University level and maintained a 3.0-3.33 average. There are a few C’s that I have gotten mostly in Calculus, Pre-Cal, and other math courses. As of right now my gpa is 3.33 for last spring term and 3.33 cumulative. Last fall my GPA was 3.57, but that has changed. I am out of state, but my true state of residence is New Jersey by law. My high school stats suck since my gpa was below 2.9, but I was wondering if that would jeopardize me? Also, I didn’t do the essay =(. Any feedback will be much appreciated.

Hey are there transfer orientations for winter? I dont see a thing and I cant imagine them not doing something like that.

yes there will be one.
