**OFFICIAL SAT Biology E/M June 2013 Exam**

Last minute review anyone?

Does anyone know where I can get tests from previous years?

collegeboard doesn’t usually release previous exams for subject tests, because a lot of the tests or questions are used again on other tests. For example, the May 2013 Bio test was literally the exact same test as one back in June, 2006, give or take a few questions.

Is taxonomy prevalent throughout the test? And would taking three practice tests before Saturday and reviewing what I got wrong be sufficient for an 800? I’m taking it as a freshman, studied from barrons, skimmed PR, and brushed up concepts in AP Biology Barrons book.

And for those who need some extra review, I compiled a deck of flash cards on common vocabulary words (360):

The password is “sasuke” quotes excluded

Thanks for making this!

Does anyone have any accurate (in your opinion) practice tests? I took the blue book test already, but there’s only one…

I feel the Barrons is the most accurate as the Collegeboard does throw in some questions that have a likeness of those on the Barrons tests.

yes! last minute review! great!

hey @sat, do they usually administrate repeated tests twice?
i have a feeling chances of a repeated test in june are very slim…

wow, thanks adiallo. I took the subject test in May and got 760, but I haven’t studied since then, and this is a great review. I need this 800!

I’m not really sure about the repeated test thing. I just know from the may bio forum, that it was basically the exact same test from 2006

just one thing, though, that I found in the notecards. Interphase is not part of mitosis. Mitosis is prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase. Interphase is part of the CELL CYCLE, which consists of interphase, mitosis, and cytokinesis. The parts of interphase are G1 S and G2. S is where chromosomes are duplicated and interphase is the part of the cell cycle where the cell grows and produces proteins. It is also the longest phase of the cell cycle

Ah that is true ^ I’ll fix that up and i need that 800 as well x_x aiming for MIT

I thought u did get that 800 sat? :P

You took the test already? How was the experience? What did you study before you took the test, and how much? How difficult were the questions?

^^ what he/ she asked :P

so people. btw… e or m?

I wanted to do M but after seeing Barrons’ ridiculous curve for E, i’m more inclined to E, although M as a better gradient as a 720 is like the 94th percentile i believe.

yeah barron’s makes you think E…
but i dunno they say the real CB tests don’t have that HUGE of a difference…

Most probably m for me…

I basically got an 800 :stuck_out_tongue: (plus, it was all really stupid mistakes that I made, like I forgot what eutrophication was, and I thought that protists couldn’t be photosynthetic) I only got that minus 40 cause I was so nervous. Hopefully this time’s different.

And about the test, I feel like it was difficult, but it wasn’t incredibly difficult. If any of you took the Ap bio exam this year, it is like the COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF IT, which was really stupid. It was more like the ap bio exams before they changed it. A lot of memorization is needed to answer the questions. The beginning questions have a couple of those thigns where it gives you a diagram (on mine, I got the heart), or other lists, then asks you about what the parts do. (Like what part of the heart receives blood from the heart, etc.)/ Then after those, it goes into the multiple choice ones which weren’t too difficult except for a couple of them, and only cause I blanked out. Then at the end of the general bio questions. (the questions closer to 60), it is more analyzing graphs and experiments, etc.

Then finally you choose E or M, and those questions are mostly things you either know or don’t, and then with another chart, or experiment at the end but relating to either E or M. It wasn’t too bad,.

And adiallo, the 760 I got in May was only the 85th percentile, so…

satman, any tips on what to study last minute?

what’s the normal heart rate for humans?
