OFFICIAL SAT I Math Thread

the sum of the first 10 consecutive is S. the sum of the first 20 consectutive digits is T. How are S and T related

i think the answer was
2S + 110 = T

Does anyone remember the multiple choice problem where they have 2 parallel lines going down and they want you to find a really small diagonal crossing those two lines? Anybody??

it was -1.

i remember, i put 3 but people said it's 6.

Does anybody remember exactly what QC # 14 said?

It was one of the random symbol questions that ended with a^2-b^2-c^2 vs. a^2-b^2+c^2, which simplifies into -c^2 vs c^2

What I want to know is whether the question stated that the variables were all real numbers, or whether it said none of them could be 0.

it said cnot equal to 0
on the SAT all numbers are real anyway

what is an sat curve?

What about that cube that said the surface area was 3600, and then asked for the volume. I thought that was the hardest one. Is that on the section that counted?

xoeoeix - it's the curve of which raw score (ex. 55) equates to a scaled score (ex. 620). So say you got 55 answers right on the verbal section and none wrong with 23 omitted. That would equate to a 620 scaled score for that section. The same for math only a different scale goes with the raw score. The scale changes with each test depending on everyone's score

what do u think the curve is gonna be 4 the math. example?

I'm not sure, but I'm guessing pretty strict because it didn't seem as difficult as other tests. Maybe 800,780,770,760,750,740... It's hard to say though.

Idd anyone get 6 for the number of ways to get from a to b? Does anyone remember getting 3-4 d's in teh quant comps sections?

yes it was 6 and i got exactly 4 D's in the real QC section.

I got 6. Yeah, i didn't get many Ds. A lot of As and Bs at first then it went diagonal down the column to a few Ds and Cs at the end. There were a lot of answers going diagonal like 1. A 2. B 3. C 4. D and so on. I was scared.

i got alot of d's in qc i thought i was doing something wrong

cool.
:)

Which one was the real one? Was it the one with teh number of dogs and cats question? ( oh, for that one i got C)

i don't remember dogs and cats.

for the dog and cat question was the answer 2?

if omitted like 15 and got 6-8 wrong does anyone have any guess what that might be? thanks

Alex, was your experimental math or verbal?
Cuase if get a math section that you don't, is that section experiemtnal?

xoeoeix, i got 2 as well. I put "c"
