Official Sat Subject Test: Chemistry Chat

Hey mirrorofdirt i might have done well on chem but i failed my math level 2,so we are pretty much in the same boat here....left 5 blank for math...and i prob got quite a few wrong too...yea for HCO3- it's TTCE for sure.let's see what else can we think of for chem...the 100g/mol hydrocarbon has 7 Cs,0.10mol HCl has a pH of 1,there was a 0.025 mol or something like that,anything else guys?

there is also this highest pH question,answer is NaOH

I got 3 FT in a row followed by 3 TF -__-

so what does everyone think the curve is for this test ?

does anyone remember the question where it gave the various pH levels. I think a was 1, c was 7, and e was 11. Did it ask for most acidic or basic?

wat's the normal curve?? 800 uptill 78~79???

gulliver101, i think it asked for the highest concentration of H, so acidic. I put A, if that was 1

according to princeton review score chart, 800 is uptill 79(raw) 790(78) 780(77,76,75,74,73), 770(72,71) 750(70,69)

wat do u guys think the curve for todays test is?

i thought that this one was pretty easy, even though i haven't taken a real test before. (studied with barron's)

barron's says 75-85 is 800

75~85 = 800

even better i guess...

I hope I got a 720....That'd be sweeet. I can never judge how I do on the Chem tests. I was taking one of the practice ones and I was like yeah doing well doing well, then like 5 wrong. And those darn T T F F CE things mess with my head.

I hope I can get at least a 750 when I take it. btw, what's the average?

Can anyone compile the answers to Nov Chem test like the one in the Bio thread?

the chemistry test offered in the Real SAT Subject Test book has the following curve:

(85-78) = 800
77 = 790
76 = 790
75 = 780
74 = 780
73 = 770
72 = 770
71 = 760
70 = 760
... etc

i don't the curve can be too terrible if its anything close to this one.

Hey. I would like to make a note about the scoring of the SAT II in Chemistry... I took the May SAT II... I thought it was really easy by looking at the curve.

About 3 or so wrong IS a 750... The curves they give are pretty bad, but someone who gets like 18 wrong will get a 710..., but not always.

how do u say the curve is pretty bad when -18 = 710, what r u talking about?

So do anyone have the answers to the Nov chem sat?

no, IHATESAT, 3 wrong is 800, according to the curve in the real SAT II book. Have you seen any definitive curve listing where 3 wrong = 750?

i thought the test was like... at least 3x better than any of the practices i took... which kinda makes me upset: me not studying much thinking it wasn't bad + nerds who study a ton thinking they get like 810's = bad curve.

what did you guys think
