**Official SAT World History Thread 2014**

@KA9812 Me too, but sadly, they didn’t. I think they’d show you the exact answers only if you took the SAT. Oh well. I hope I do better on the retakes.

Aren’t yale and upenn the only ivies that don’t use score choice?

so im on vacation and i found out i got a 630 on this test. I really expected 700 or above. should i bother retaking the test. im going to be a junior and want to apply to ivies but i have no intention of being a humanities major. im just wondering if i should retake for a better score to send. i still plan on retaking biology (also did bad on) and taking math ii and chemistry.

@skyisover‌ yeah I’m in a similar situation. I got a 700 but really wanted 750+ for ivy. I also am not gonna be a humanities major but I still think I am going to retake the test in December because I’m also going to take math 1

YOU DON’T HAVE TO RETAKE IF YOU DON’T WANT TO. YOU DONT HAVE TO SEND THE SUBJECT TEST IF TS BAD.

does the score range matter? i got a 750 and it says my score range was 730-770, does that mean that i’m as good as a 730 or a 770?

it means you’re as good as a 750

It basically means that on any given test with the same level of preparation and “knowledge”, you can anticipate scoring a 730 all the way to a 770. Not taking into account other factors, like if you have a cold, or your cat was killed in a Satanic ritual the night before.

@CalMartin‌ The thing is that not all schools accept score choice so I don’t know if I have to retake the test to cover the bad score I got or if they just don’t care if I just leave it. I still have to take the SAT I and Math II and another science subject test (did bad on biology) in my junior year and I’m worried I may not be able to adequately prepare for it.

Hey guys, I’m taking the subject test on Dec. 6th (in less than a week woohoo) and I’m pretty nervous… It’s my first time taking a subject test of any kind so I’m not really sure of what to expect… How close was your actual score to the scores you got when you took practice tests in supplemental texts? I feel like the barrons tests were unexpectedly difficult (I scored in the low 600s), compared to the official CB study guide (I scored low 700s). I’m hoping that the official CB study guide is pretty accurate because I really need to break at least 700, 750 is preferable, though.

@hilobanana‌ At this point, there’s nothing you can do aside from studying hardcore. Memorize every little detail in your prep book, and it’s best if you are studying with Barron’s. I think the CB test is a little easier, and the prep book tests a tad bit harder.

I self-studied AP World and AP Euro and got 5s. Studied hardcore for SAT World and got…700…

Really focus on getting all the little details, and you’ll get at least 700!

Good Luck.

Guys it makes sense to attempt all questions in this test if you can eliminate at least one answer, right?

@hilobanana‌ I took AP World history last year as a sophomore and got an easy 5 on the exam after reviewing with a Kaplan book. I studied for the subject test by using my AP book and got a 740. I definitely think I could have done better if I had bought a review book geared towards the subject test to help familiarize me with the type of questions asking and the timing needed. Barron’s books usually have a tendency of being much harder than the actual test, so dont worry too much if those scores are lower.
@Furqanmushtaq‌ I think it does. Unless something looks completely unfamiliar and you have no idea, I’d answer every question

can somebody send me the google docs answers please?

No. it was Portuguese actually
