wow, based on your answers, i think i did really horrible

well, im tryin to validify these answers?

heellllpppp

tag. . .took it . . .can't really answer you, as I myself wasn't sure on most of them.

Well.. these are what I got for the questions above:

Same

Same

Same

Same

They farm communally

I forgot what I put down, but I didn't get that answer.

Same

Same

Same

Same

Eh, forgot again, but I didn't get that answer.

Same

Settlers couldn't go west of the Appalachian Mountains

Civil rights legislation

Same..Madison

cult of domesticity

Factory System

Compromise with Clay and Webster between North and South

For the 50s one, i put the one about jumping on a trampoline to improve their figure. In retrospect, thats probably the wrong answer, but i figured that the 50s were really conservative so a woman's figure wouldn't really be that important.

For the 1850s picture with all of the women, i put something about the increasing size of middle class families cause there were 5 of them. I didn't think it was the cult of domesticity because there was nothing in the picture that really indicated that...Oh well, i probably got that one wrong as well.

Who painted the campbell soup thing? I put jackson pollock, cause he was the only name i recognized as an artist during the 50s...But i thought he was a really liberal splatter painter? haha...

nah that can't be pollock. . .had to be warhol, i think

Yeah, i knew it couldn't really be pollock, but i had no idea... How the **** are we supposed to know that? The AP test is a much better representation than this ******** test imo...

well Warhol's style is pretty distinct, but I agree, I don't think that's a good question for a u.s. history test
AP is better, i agree.

I don't even know who warhol is... I've never heard of any of those guys except pollock. I don't get it. I got a 5 on the AP exam without breaking a sweat, but I can't ever seen to break 750 on these god damn tests.

Yea the AP test is much more contained and focuses solely on the U.S. It don't remember it having anything art related, and the UN definetely didnt appear on the AP test. Anyway, I think I screwed up badly on this test, and am very much considering signing up for the December as a retake. BTW, I'm pretty sure quakers support abolition, but they don't enfore celibacy. So I put the answer with celibacy for that one. Then after the test I went to a Krispy Kreme drive through and got a dozen glazed donuts and coffee. Twas sweet. Victory.

What did Truman say was Russia's greatest capability after World War Two?

And was it just me, or were there a lot of literature/art related questions? (Cubism at the Armory Show, Hawthorne's Puritan books, Horatio Alger, Andy Warhol, Hudson River School, etc.) Maybe it's to be expected, but I didn't really prep and I was pretty surprised how much there was about stuff that doesn't seem that historical.

uhh how do you guys remember your answers?

russian army is the greatest capability

we remember cuz we got great memories ROFL and right after the test, i jot down everything i can remember about the test by scanning my brain for scattered memory

OHH one more...for the korean war, the EXCEPT choice was that it was the first UN intervention? it wasnt UN right? it was NATO?

common sense, they farm communally, which meant they didnt farm as individual farms, right?

Shaka:

Quakers: beliefs does not include abolition? I got "celibacy of clergy", since the Quakers didn't believe in having a clergy; the Quakers were pretty vociferous abolitionists

Viet war did not cause 1970s inflation? I put that, but I think I'm wrong

Proclamation of 1763, anyone remmeber the answer? It was an obvious one: settlers couldn't settle over the Appalachians

Which is not common between roosevelt and johnson's legislations: support for arts? It was civil rights legislation. Johnson created the National Endowment for the Arts and Humanities, and FDR created something...can't remember which one.

The quotation about conflicting viewpoints, was it Madison? I had no clue; I put Thomas Hutchinson, cause that was the only name I didn't recognize, but I'm sure that's wrong.

Picture of 1850s family: matriachial structure of family? Family structure in the 1850's certainly wasn't matriarchial...I put cult of domesticity, but that didn't seem right either with the guy in the picutre.

Drawing of the women in the workshop: labor movement or factory system? Actually, I couldn't decide between factory system and gender equality. I put factory system.

Compromise of 1850: showed that Calhoun is willing to make compromise? I thought it was Clay and Webster who were making the compromise. Calhoun died in 1850.

Yes, the Campbell soup one was Andy Warhol. Warhol was described as a painter of "soup cans" in my textbook, lol

Armory show was cubism. Actually, I was just guessing during the test, but I looked it up later, and it seems to be true.

I got Russian army as their greatest resource, but I thought it might have been technology too (Sputnik). Really not sure on that one.

OHH one more...for the korean war, the EXCEPT choice was that it was the first UN intervention? it wasnt UN right? it was NATO? No, it wasn't NATO, but the UN officially called it a "police action", not a war. Not sure if that was the correct answer though.

Horatio Alger: self-made man

Hawthorne: Puritain influences (something like that)

Hudson River School: 19th century artists

MORE QUESTIONS!

Poster (on the 2nd page): showed that advertisements could make false claims

Shaded Map Question: Did the shaded area represent wheat cultivation or immigration?

Quote about Cold War: Joe McCarthy, I think...but might have been Truman

Anyway, was it just me, or was this test INCREDIBLY difficult for SAT II US History?

Seriously, did NOBODY take the SAT II US History exam this time around? Usually there are 50+ posts!
