you guys have trouble to finish?

not really; on the first math one i missed the last question, i think and i skipped a few, maybe one or two in there as well

well, for me, I always run out of time. lol
just can't help it, I try not to get caught up in hard questions but I just feel uneasy if I skip and go on.

what you guys think the cutoff for Commended / and Semi-Finalists will

be based upon this year's difficulty

its 12:04 now... the question about the gift certificates, did it ask how many 3$ certificates, or how much they were worth all together?

GAH! CR & W x_x;

It told you how much it was worth all together.. 57$ and asked how many 3$ certificates..

the question asked how many 3$ certificates are there

Solution: set x= number of $5 certificates.

2 * (2*2)x + 3 * 2x + 5x= 57
19x =57
x= 3

then x *2 = 6

Can anyone answer my question?

What was the answer to the one that asked about "in lieu of typing, writing."
I think i put that forming memories was a similar similar process to writing (or something to that effect)

Also, which of the memories would he put in the reject pile?
A memory that didnt invole him, only his brother (i think it was the dog)

Was the one that talked about bizarre memory editing such as stop signs out of no where be incredulous rebuke (something like that).
I think i put something along the lines of "a humerous antecdote"

But that's just my oppinion, maybe someone else can cconfirm/reject this.

what do you put for the main idea on the Dinasour Passage?

i put the dog memory for the one question and then i put the humerous one for the other question. i might be wrong too though. lol. i don't know.

can someone please restate the problem and the solution for the certificate problem? I don't get nash13s

I agree with bassplayr on all 3. I think we're allowed to discuss the test right?

the idea that both passages shared?

i put the one that alluded to the fact that t-rex was anot a ferocious beast, rather a calm plant eater.

For the one with dinosaurs, I put hunting/eating habits for what both talked about (thought about specific anatomy, but one didn't really mention specifics).

And for the claim against something with dinosaurs, I put "completely unfounded," since everything the paleontologist said contradicted it, and he never mentioned anything about a t-rex as being ferocious.

Agree with you, waffle, on both =)

for the 'cone question' where the 2 cones are parallel, did you guys get 2.5??

yeah waffle.

and yeah, discussion is allowed after 9 pacific, which was like 20 min ago.

yes, 2.5.

"similar cones" rather than similar triangles- same principle

I think the one i picked for main idea was like "the food-hunting behavior of a specific dinosaur"
