Official SCEA Decisions

I don't know why I'm starting this thread since I'm not even going to receive my decision until Dec.14, but the Questbridge people find out this Friday. Oh boy, I'm excited!

Good-luck everybody! Post your statistics and whatnot.

I found this format on last year's SCEA thread, it'll be more generic this way =)

Please use the following format. REMEMBER TO REMOVE ALL SPACES BETWEEN THE BRACKETS (ex. The space should be deleted between the bracket and s in [ size=+2], etc.) ALSO REMEMBER TO REMOVE ALL SPACE BETWEEN [ *]

[ size=+2][ color=orange][ b]Decision: Deferred[ /b][ /color][ /size] OR

Good luck everyone! Not long for Questbridge applicants now...and only 18 days left for everyone else!

AH! I almost fell off my chair when I saw this thread. I thought results were already out and I just totally misread everything about some date in December. hahah Well, good luck to everyone!!!!

OMG.....scary scary scary...4 days :(

Why do you feel the need to post stats once you are in...or otherwise? It is rather absurd. Time to move on. I don't think most people care after a certain point. You don't want to be one of those "I got, blah blah on my SAT" types, believe me.

Good luck, everyone.

@oldyale - I think it is for the benefit of future applicants. This way, next years applicants can see how they stand in the early application pool.

Perhaps people should just all post their stats on this thread now, so that when decisions come out, we're not getting a skewed representation (ie, tons of only acceptees post). They did this last year and it seemed to work quite well. That way, on the 15th, all you'll have to do is copy/paste your old post and just change the heading to accepted/deferred/rejected.

I'm sorry if I'm asking an obvious question, but what is Questbridge? Does anyone know when most of those early action applicants will find out if they have been accepted? I know Yale's website says middle of December, but they also say that the earlier you sent your application in, the earlier you would get a response. Just curious. Thanks.

yeah, i agree with dandelion... it's definitely for the benefit of future applicants. I'm applying next year (for class of '13) and i can't even express how beneficial threads like this have been

lol, this decision thread is killing me...

wow Friday... thats nice/horrible lol

bermudmd

Questbridge is an early applicant program designed for outstanding students from challenging socio-economic backgrounds. They vet the applicants, then send applicants on to top schools. Yale is a partner. This signals to Yale that an applicant has financial need, and has been outstanding despite difficult circumstances. It does give such applicants an advantage, but all applicants must rank their school choices and be matched by the colleges. I applaud Yale for their vision in this area. See QuestBridge Home Page for more info.

do you know how many people applied to yale through questbridge and what the usual acceptance rate is for questbridge applicants?

Spending some time on the Questbridge site is helpful. I believe they don't give specifics. They do give a breakdown by various means. Yale is a new partner, so data as you seek is not available. Suffice to say that Yale may be accepting not a few applicants through Questbridge. Good for them!

why dont you all remove the spaces?

akiiriah

probably like 10/500 for the scholarship.

More than 500 I think..to be honest..

i didnt remove the spaces because then it will actually bold and it will no longer work as a format for other people =)

TASP is a hook?

Hey guys, I called Yale during my free period at lunch today. I got their receptionist and I asked whether I could expect the results, as an Early Action applicant; she stated that it was neither the 14th or the 15th but mid-December. The receptionist also told me to look online (I'm assuming their website) in regards to when they will be online. Thus, I'm assuming that they don't want to pin-point a date in case it doesn't come out on that date or whatnot.
