Wait....NEITHER the 14th or 15th??

Yeah my conversation went like this:

"Hello, Yale University Office of Undergraduate Admissions."
"Hi! I applied to Yale on early action and was wondering when the uh, decisions comes out, whether it was the 14th or the 15th?"
"The decision actually is out sometime in mid-December."
"Not the 14th or the 15th?"
"Yes, you'll have to check online. You'll find out when they'll be online."
"And I can check this on my Eli account?"
"Yes, you can check it online on your Eli."
"Thanks a lot!"

Ah...more waiting. gasps, cringes, recovers No biggie :)

But isn't the 15th already mid-December? >_<

stresstresstresstresstresstresstresstresstress

okay.
so "mid" december is technically like from dec 10-dec 20?

I'm guessing December 10-December 21, lol.

I think the receptionist intended to say 14th or 15th... we're reading too much into this conversation, I think. Not that I'm positive by any means, but I've heard 14th or 15th from too many sources for it to be wrong.

Why didn't she say yes? :(

Because people make mistakes when they're put on the spot. I think she meant "Yes, like you said, the 14th or 15th. Look online to be sure."

Though like I said, I'm no expert. In the end it's all the same, though, right?

We'll find out soon enough (or too soon- yikes!).

OK, so this now means you guys have to start checking the website on Dec 10?? You know you will. Thinking of all of you fabulously talented kids and hoping, if you've given your heart to Yale, that you get in.

...they cant just string us along like this, having us check like every minute december 10th onwards ;_;

what if they dont come out until like the 20th or something because they have so many applications. ill be so screwed for my RD schools if that happens cause i cant bring myself to start until ive heard from yale haha.

... I just want to go to Yale. Seriously. I would be so good to them.

Blaaaaahhhhhh I kinda just want to wait til I get a letter I HATE checking important things on email.

I asked and its definitely the 14th that they are releasing decisions. I don't know where everyone is getting the idea of the 10th or 21th, but the 14th is supposed to be the date.

Guys there's no way we wont find out until the 20th or 21st like some of you were saying. According to their own website as well as websites like the Collegeboard, the DEADLINE for colleges to notify Early candidates is December 15th. We will probably find out on the 14th just because the 15th is a Saturday, and even admissions readers need weekends so don't stress out that you wont find out until the late December.

I wish I could flash forward one year so that I would know where, when, how and why! And then I could come back and complete my senior year peacefully!
ARG!!

I got my counselor to call and the receptionist. My counselor told me that the receptionist at Yale has said that they will be out mid-December. Thus, I believe it could be anywhere from the 10th to the 14th.

This is how it will probably go for me--

I will get home from school, exhausted, thinking about Yale approximately twice a minute. Flopping into my chair, I will check my email and see one from Yale. Huh? Why have they emailed me? It's not the 14th...

Dear Fringey,

We regret to inform you blah blah blah.

Fade to black. Game over.

My version.

I will be furiously trying to finish my physics homework during my open hour when i will throw my hands up in the air and just give up. Then, i'd probably head to one of the computers in the library and see an email from Yale. My hand will be shaking as a I open it, and it will say..

Dear Dietcoke.

We are sorry to inform you that....

Sucks to be you.

Best wishes,
Yale Admissions.

P.s. cut back on the diet coke, will you?

Then, a school librarian will be looking over my shoulder to see if i'm playing online games or going on facebook, which is NOT allowed. She'll read the letter too.
And announce to the whole library,
"Dietcoke! I'm SOO sorry you DIDNT get into YALE!!!!"

is it the 14th for sure?

because on yale's facebook wall thing it says:

Hi everyone, just to let you all know, we will accept standardized test scores for regular decision applicants up through the January 26th SAT date and the February 9th ACT date.

Also, for all you early action folk, we unfortunately do not have a set decision date; you guys will find out sometime in mid-December.

Best,
Lucas

hahahaha dietcoke I fear the librarians so intensely at my school that I can't go in the library. They're like... witches??

I'm worried that when word gets out I'm going to be pitied. And I hate being pitied.

Akiiriah, i read that, too. Don't you just wish there was a set date?
