Hey man, could I borrow some of that if you're not going to use it? lol 38,000 a year is amazing, you must've really wowed them!

Well, U of Rochester got back to me and wrote that they sent my financial packet at the end of last week, so I have to be geeting it in a next day or two.
I am glad that everything is okay.

Just recieved my package...not a very enticing package...and all I can say is that it is not nearly close to 38,000.
Oh, well, i guess I am not coming to Rochester...

I too have decided that my package was not sufficient enough. I'm having my dad call the FinAid office tomorrow to talk money, but as it stands now, my offers from Holy Cross and UPitt-Honors were substantialy better than the offer from URoch. It's really kind of sad because of how badly I wanted to go to U of R, but if it wasn't meant to be, there's no sense in hanging my head...Their loss.

I did recieve better offers elsewhere, but I suggest that when considering schools, decide whether paying extra for Rochester is worth. In most cases it is.

For me it all evens out though. I mean I'm not a science major like everyone else on this board, therefore URoch isn't even a clear-cut best option. Holy Cross offers a Poli-Sci program that, while it is not as highly ranked, offers just as great an opportunity as Rochester at a significantly lower price, as is the case also at Pitt, where I got into the Politics-Philosophy major, one of the few where you actually get a degree from the "Honors College at the Univ. of Pitt." So in my particular case, Rochester's current offer is not even in the same ballpark as the others.
I love the school, but not enough to put my family $120,000 in the red before grad school.

My son is also poli-sci tothemax. And we have four kids, with one in college already. We have to look at cost closely, and same deal....it's a lot more debt than some of the others, not even close. My son is considering Pomona, Carleton, Northwestern and U Chicago (although the fin aid from Chicago is not in)

My oldest is at Bucknell, btw, and they play Holy Cross in athletics.
