Is this website not working for anyone else? https://camel2.usc.edu/AdmOnlineApplication/

Not for me. As in…not loading period, yes.

correct. not loading at all…

It’s not loading for me either.
I was wondering if anyone knew if the interviews were maybe for people who they are on the fence about, like deciding between them and someone else, or if it is actually a very positive sign. I read last year’s forum like this and the people who received interviews all seemed to be accepted, but that could just be coincidence, and I might have missed something.

After pouring over all the status update forums, I’d say don’t worry about it. My status has been at “forwarded” for the past 3 months. (I submitted fall grades but was not asked). I think the whole status update system isn’t really indicative of any sort of admission decision or anything really for that matter. It seems they update them randomly and sporadically. Some have been on the forwarded status and got in and likewise with the fall grades status. Even without the “acted upon” status. Don’t take my word for it though. I’m just an applicant and not an insider.

@Benjo

I forgot to tell you, I really loved your film. Your actor is really talented, I loved the very dry tone and all. “No such luck, I have AT&T” made me crack up, definitely my favorite line.

@quwayo, I’m in the same situation, been stuck on that status for months.

Thank you very much! I was lucky to have Forrest act, he’s great. I’ll forward your compliments :)

I have also been stuck. I can not even click on the Admission Status link. I ck’d with Admissions and SCA about it. They said it won’t change until they’ve made a decision or have moved along in the “process.” I am assuming that folks who got calls are grad students. Am I correct or incorrect??

Some undergrad students got phone calls from the admission committee. Or at lease, professors/chairs etc.

I’m undergrad and got a call so I would guess it’s both.

3: When did you get a call?

Last week…the 3rd I think it was.

Where is everyone’s 2nd choice :)

This is my only choice university. I’m international, so this is really my only chance to study in the US.

I think all grad students get interviewed. I don’t think all undergrads get interviewed. I doubt decisions have been made for undergrads since they are still working on grads. It seems the process is evolving. Two or three years ago no film/visual sample needed now there is. It’s just gotten so competitive so I think that is why more undergrad students are getting interviewed but who knows. It’s a small class so USC can do what they want to do.

nw, my second choice would be UCLA if my family can afford it, but SDSU otherwise (I’ve already been accepted to the TV/Film pre-major and the Honors program). It may not be the most competitive school, but I’m from Virginia so I can’t complain: they’ve got an actual film production–not studies–major, and beautiful weather.

What about you?

@shicko–since you are international, setting up an interview with you might be difficult.

nw–first choice USC, 2nd choice UCLA, 3rd choice LMU-tv/film. Did not apply to Chapman, not a campus feel.

@BenjoFilm - the site isn’t loading for me either… It’s probably just the server though. Also, I forgot to tell you this too, I loved that movie. It was very quirky.

@nwfilmstudent - I’m still waiting on UCLA, Northwestern, Carnegie Mellon, and NYU too… my “safety” was Wisconsin-Madison. I never really wanted to go to UCLA or NYU though. I couldn’t even afford them if I got in.

@shicko–I think the phone interview process is just for SCA undergrad admissions process not for scholarship. It seems the students being interviewed for scholarships were done on campus and by a set of professors there. The two students on this board @little and @losthe who were interviewed were probably interviewed cause the committee member liked their applications and felt like getting to know them. I don’t think you can take any more from that. I don’t think every committee member feels like they need to have a phone interview. @little and @losthe–congrats that the professors have taken the time to personalize things for you.
