OFFICIAL School of Cinematic Arts 2014 Applicants/Results

@Mommager - thanks for the update! So far there haven’t been any internationals so this could be big news!

I think it’s interesting that the only CS people getting accepted so far are the ones who put it as their first choice. I think this is the order they go in, since CS and P are two tracks within the same major:

1st choice Production acceptances

1st choice Production rejections

1st choice Critical Studies acceptances

1st choice Critical Studies rejections

2nd choice Production, and so on

Then I think they meet up with the other things you put as your 1st/2nd choice and if you got into your 1st choice, send that letter. If you got rejected by your 1st choice, they send your 2nd choice letter. Maybe? Just a theory.

Also, bumping this:

Everyone is accepted to their first choice unless otherwise noted.

that sick… I thought you said you were leaving for mexico! ahah

@momager… where you from? – looks like he is the first intl (possibly for sca:))

dream…how do you make the little smiley face with the teeth?

@tornados : and D

thank you! I just found the list…ha ha I am going to test a few here now.

lol, this stuff really fascinates me. Perhaps they will see this mini portfolio and just have to admit me immediately.

My son is from Canada…
Still don’t know what the end result will be though!! All we know is that there is a DHL 1 pd package coming…don’t want to assume anything…

excitingggg… I am from toronto:)

Mommager…DHL = USC acceptance for international students. Congratulations. The mystery will be to which school/major he got. Please make sure to post. I hope it gets to you by Friday since DHL does not work on Saturday and Sunday.

I’m from Toronto and just got the DHL message in the evening yesterday…I’m hopeful…all my links seem to work!

relaxed (facebook - nick schmitt hong kong, add me) (B.F.A. - 1st choice) ACCEPTED 3/20 - international student

Looks like the international students were acted on this week. Make sure to let us know which major you got…production, writing, CS, Animation, Interactive media???..and congratulations. Looks like SCA is filling up…but stay hopeful…still spots remaining…

My concern in reviewing the list is that being “stuck” on forward for more than a few days appears to be a rejection? All SCA students accepted, with the exception of 1, were accepted with in 3-4 days of being bumped from forward to review. And I think the 1 exception was a weekend.

OK, This is weird…I just went to OASIS-The Admission part is gone, just the Financial Aid stuff is there. What the h_ _ _. Anyone have or had that?

The “backdoor” pages are working again. Unfortunately, nothing for me yet  But at least they are working…

WHERE IS EVERYBODY-Are you guys in SCHOOL??? :)

High school seniors **in school??? ** What a concept!

I think the system is being updated in preparation for posting the financial aid packages. Even my daughter’s (accepted in 2008) Oasis page has changed today - the “admissions” line is missing and only financial aid lines show up. It will probably be all straightened out soon. In the meantime it is sure to cause a flurry of new threads asking if it means acceptance/rejection. You, nwfilmstudent, are now responsible for telling them the change has happened to everyone, even students who did not apply this year. Have fun!!!

ok this is my exact status i have had it forever. I applied to screenwriting is this a bad sign

Application Status:

The University of Southern California is pleased to offer the ability of students to receive online messages regarding the status of their application. However, all decision notifications are made via postal mail.

alamemom,
Yep, I noticed that Oasis change this morning as well. There’s a different message under the ‘awards’ tab. You’re right, this will spark 5 new threads!!! :)

It will be another exciting day on College Confidential! And it does not matter if you post the sensible answer - the kids skip right over it and continue to speculate that it is either a sure sign of admission or a sure sign of rejection - depending on the thread. Any sign of Richard???

Yea the change happened to me as well, and I’m a transfer student.
