Official seo 2010-2011 thread!!!!

UGH - this program was useless for me. I haven’t heard ANYTHING from them (applied 2nd round).

Just went through regular OCR recruiting and broke into IBD that way.

I guess the rule is to apply first round.

Has anyone finished the Wall Street Prep training? For those who have, what marks our completion? Is there a test or something?

I was wondering the same thing. On the 2003 version there are two “tests”. One is one question and the second is 2 questions. But do we have to complete something upon completion of the 2007 course? I don’t see any tests listed.

^Hey Guys!

Sounds like you’re done with the Wall Street Prep Course. “Proof of completion” is simply having done all 3 questions for the 2003 version and going through each set of lessons completely for both the 2003 and 2007 versions (since it shows where you left off if you haven’t actually finished).

Update: My program manager emailed me and said that orientation is set for May 23rd and that we should all know our placement within the next month! I’m so excited. I’m gonna hold off on solidifying my housing until AFTER I know where I’ll be though…

I have an inperson for IT, is there anyone that can help me with quesstions i should be expecting?

Has anyone been accepted into the program recently?

Hey Guys, I am still looking for a place to live, I will be interning in midtown (I accepted an offer outside of SEO and linked it with SEO that it why I know where I will be at) and I’m looking for someone to sublet a one bedroom, or a studio. I’m pretty flexible and I just want to find a place thats not going to cost an arm and a leg. If there are any girls who don’t want to live in the dorms and are willing to search for sublets together, message me!

I haven’t heard anything back since my in-person in late January. While apparently they are still interviewing people, so I don’t know how long will this goes. Last year there was a March 1st deadline, does anybody have any idea bout deadline this year?

Ok, I just checked last year’s thread, and there’s no deadline in March…I remembered wrongly… and there were some people who heard back in late March…which means…more time to wait… and wait…

Hello guys,

I applied to first round IB and got accepted yesterday. On the acceptance letter it says that the last day to accept your admission is March 9th. I don’t know if that is the last day that they are accepting interns but at least that is what my letter says. Well anyways, is there anyone else that got accepted to IB here?

Congrats ecasas!!!

You said “acceptance letter”? Did they email you that? Didn’t somebody call you and ask some follow-up questions?

Thanks!

Hey whats up guys,

First and foremost congrats to all of you that have been selected. I had my in person interview for the second round in late February. I received an offer via telephone for investment research about two weeks later and was told that I will receive some documents via email or through the apply yourself site. That was about 2 and a half weeks ago and I have yet to receive anything. Should I be worried, or are any of you guys in my same situation?

call your program coordinator

Been heading around manhattan looking at various sublets… some of these places are the size of my closet (literally)

Guess its time to dorm!

In for CFL! Very excited. seo gives you 1 week to say yay/nay. people may be confusing that deadline with another.

At Lib,

They called me but did not really ask me any difficult follow up questions. He just asked me if I have ever been to new york, and when I would be available to come. No technical questions, it was a very pleasant phone call. He also said that they were swamped at their office and that he only had to deal with admissions for 3 more weeks, which means that I assume that there is only 3 weeks left until everything is sorted out. I then checked my e-mail and it linked me to the SEO site which showed my decision status. The letter was not sent through e-mail but rather was on the SEO page under decision status. Now comes the hard part, finding housing for me, my fiancee, and my daughter. NYU already told me that they don’t accept families, I guess I’ll go live under a bridge (it will be way cheaper that way and I may actually be able to save some money).

ecasas check out the nyu law graduate housing, they take families

Thanks LeninaMarxBNW I’ll look into it. It sucks that we don’t know where we’ll end up until the end of march especially when one of the firms is in Boston.

@kenyan
They didn’t; she only asked me if I had any updates like other job offers or interviews with partner firms. Also, she asked when I will be available to start working for the summer.

does anyone know what any of the cfl interns were paid last summer?

Got my first choice in placement today! Psyched.
