Official Siemens/Intel STS Science Competition Thread

<p>wow this thread is kinda old… but you can’t really tell how many apply from your region.</p>

<p>Usually the big states are NY and CA, that is any state that has big funding for its schools.</p>

<p>Otherwise, Intel tends to look at projects that have a real application. They do not neccessarily want a complex and technically fluent paper. STS looks for promising scientist virtue. You could probably win with a very technical paper at Siemens, but STS tends to focus on experiments that solve or analyze a real problem in the world.</p>

<p>BTW, 1700 applied this year, and it was 1,600 last year. Its still 300 semi- and 40 finalists.</p>
